If you liked our post yesterday about the Paxton Boys, you’ll also be interested in what historian Lynn Otto is preparing for next week’s meeting of the Mahonoy and Mahantongo Historical Society in Dalmatia.

Lynn will be discussing the Terror in the Tulpehocken, a two year period (1756-1758) that saw French and Indian raiders come into the Tulpehocken Valley. In this terrifying era, which much have felt apocalyptic, Otto discerns the seeds of the American Revolution.

The society will convene at 7pm in Trinity Church, itself a historic site, and will begin the evening with the presentation followed by a short business meeting and refreshments. The meeting is open to the public.

Check out the Reading Eagle’s coverage of a 2016 talk by Otto for a preview of what he’ll cover.
