A feasibility study conducted by Northern Lebanon School District has concluded, with designs now in progress for the identified priority improvements.

The study by Mechanisburg-based Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates explored how the district’s physical buildings would, or would not, meet the community’s educational needs in the future. According to a release by the district, the study identified that the most educationally and fiscally responsible path forward was constructing a new K-6 elementary school on land adjacent to the existing secondary school.
At its regular board meeting on Sept. 8, the district voted to approve Crabtree, Rohrbaugh and Associates proceeding to “schematic design for the proposed new K-6 elementary school and selected athletic facility improvements.”
The release notes that the board is “very excited to start this endeavor” with the next step being a series of community workshops and surveys to inform the design process. The first is scheduled for Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Northern Lebanon High School Auditorium.
