Annville Township

Vehicle Accident – On Jan. 7, 2021 at 8:13 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2016 Mazda Mazda 3, driven by Operator 1, a 29 year old Annville woman, was stopped at a stop sign, facing south on North Myer St., preparing to cross over/through the intersection of SR 422. Unit 2, a 2008 Toyota Solara, driven by Operator 2, a 75 year old Middletown man, was traveling westbound on SR 422, approaching the intersection with North Myer St. Unit 1 pulled out from the stop sign and directly into the path of westbound Unit 2, where impact occurred between the front driver’s side of Unit 1 and the front of Unit 2. Both Units came to their positions of final rest in the eastbound travel lane of SR 422. Operator 1 was not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained a possible leg injury. Operator 1 was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital for further evaluation. Operator 2 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash and reported no injuries. Both Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene by Zimey’s Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Trooper Kline, Union Hose Co., Lebanon County Fire Police, Life Lion Ambulance, and Zimey’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited with Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Bethel Township

DUI – On Jan. 11, 2021 at 4:37 a.m., members of PSP Jonestown responded to Sunrise Dr. and Mount Zion Rd. for a reported single-vehicle crash. Investigation into this incident found the vehicle Operator to be under the influence of alcohol. The Operator was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and was transported to PSP Jonestown, where a chemical test of breath indicated his BAC to be .181%. Charges were prepared and the Operator was transported to Lebanon County Central Booking. The Arrestee was Gerardo Merino Gonzalez, a 53 year old Triangle, VA man. The vehicles involved included a 2002 Ford Econoline E350.

Fire Investigation – On Jan. 13, 2021 at 8:51 p.m., the State Police at Reading investigated a fire at the Sunrise mobile home park, located on the 00 block of Sunrise Ct. Fire crews responded to the location for a report of a residential structure fire. They arrived to find an end of one of the structures within the trailer park engulfed with fire. They were able to save more than half of the trailer and keep the fire from spreading. Several occupants were displaced, everyone home at the time was able to exit safely. No injuries were reported. The area at the end of the structure sustained significant damage, including a complete collapse of the roof. The damage is estimated at $50,000. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants. The investigation showed that the fire originated along the west wall in an area attached to one end of the structure that was used as a garage. The exact ignition source is unknown, and the fire is classified as undetermined. No further criminal investigation is anticipated. The Victim was a W/N/M from Lebanon.

Assault Fear By Physical Menace – On Jan. 14, 2021 at 5:57 p.m., the Victim traveled to the PSP Jonestown station to report a road rage incident. It was determined that the Suspect’s vehicle was traveling east on SR 22 in Union Twp. At which point, the Suspect pointed a firearm at the Victim. The Victim was a 23 year old Jonestown man. The vehicles involved included a 2004 Volkswagen. The other vehicle involved, described in narrative, was a Volkswagen Jetta. Fire Investigation, Arson – On Jan. 14, 2021 at 1:10 p.m., the Pennsylvania State Police conducted a fire investigation at the residence located on the 300 block of Mountain Dr. in Bethel Twp. Fire crews responded to a report of a fire inside of a residential structure at that location. Crews were able to enter the structure and extinguish the fire that was located on the third floor of the residence. No injuries were reported. All Occupants exited safely. The damage is estimated at $75,000. The investigation showed that the fire originated within a room on the third floor. The investigation resulted in the fire being classified as incendiary, intentionally set. Further investigation revealed that the Owner/Accused intentionally ignited the fire using gasoline and a lighter. The Owner/Accused, Thomas McKerns, a 45 year old Fredericksburg W/N/M, was taken into custody and admitted to starting the fire. He was charged with Arson and related offenses. He was transported to Central Booking and was committed to prison.

City of Lebanon

Harassment – On Dec. 23, 2020 at 2:45 p.m., this incident occurred on South 4th St. as an LCCF inmate did strike a Correctional Officer in the face, causing injury. The Victim was a Lebanon man.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 19, 2020 at 3:18 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2015 Honda CRV, driven by Operator 1, a 26 year old Lebanon woman, and Unit 2, a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 2, a 23 year old Fredericksburg man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 23 year old Fredericksburg woman, and Passenger 2, a Fredericksburg female infant, were traveling eastbound in the lefthand lane of SR 22. Unit 1 was traveling behind Unit 2. Unit 1 crossed into the righthand lane to overtake Unit 2 on the right. Unit 1 then crossed back into the lefthand lane, where it struck Unit 2. Upon impact, Unit 1 was forced over the median where it then spun approximately 180 degrees in the westbound side of SR 22. Unit 1 continued to drive westbound before coming to its position of final rest, facing north on Bullfrog Rd. Unit 2 came to its position of final rest on the south shoulder of SR 22, facing an east direction. Unit 1 sustained front-end damage. Unit 1’s side airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Both Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and reported no injuries. Passenger 1 and Passenger 2 were also not injured as a result of this crash. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Joe May’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited with Overtaking Vehicle on Right.

Vehicle Accident – On Jan. 14, 2021 at 1:46 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on I 81 Southbound at mile marker 83.9 in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2015 Ford Transit, driven by Operator 2, a 50 year old Harrisburg man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 50 year old Carlisle man, was stopped in the righthand lane of I 81 Southbound at mile marker 83.9. Unit 1, a 2011 Kia Sorento, driven by Operator 1, a 45 year old Annville woman, was traveling behind Unit 2 in the righthand lane of I 81 Southbound at mile marker 83.9. Unit 1 failed to stop with traffic and rear-ended Unit 2. Operator 1 was injured as a result of this crash and was transported to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 were not injured as a result of this crash. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were disabled as a result of this crash and were towed from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On Jan. 16, 2021 at 2:08 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 501 North near its intersection with Mountain Trail Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 2, a 2012 Honda Odyssey, driven by Operator 2, a 32 year old Manheim man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 30 year old Manheim woman, Passenger 2, a 57 year old Manheim woman, Passenger 3, a 17 year old Manheim female, Passenger 4, an infant Manheim female, and Passenger 5, an infant Manheim female, was traveling north at this location as Unit 1, a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 1, a 38 year old Lebanon man, was traveling south. A U.S. mail truck was stopped in the southbound lane. Unit 1 approached the rear of the U.S. mail truck. Operator 1 was driving too fast for conditions and attempted to avoid a collision with the U.S. mail truck. Unit 1 then turned into the northbound lane of travel and struck Unit 2. All Occupants in Unit 2 were transported to the Lancaster General Medical Center for medical evaluations. Operator 1 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 contacted a personal tow for Unit 2. Unit 1 was driven from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Jackson Township

Vehicle Accident – On Jan. 11, 2021 at 2:44 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2012 Dodge Caravan, driven by Operator 2, a 35 year old Myerstown woman, was traveling north on North Locust St. Unit 1, a 1998 Chrysler Town and Country (minivan), driven by Operator 1, a 64 year old Myerstown woman, pulled out from a parking lot on the east side of North Locust St. Unit 1 subsequently struck Unit 2 in the northbound lane of North Locust St. Unit 1 sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene by Operator 1. Unit 2 sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed from the scene by Leffler’s. Neither Operator 1 nor Operator 2 were injured as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited with Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Theft Of Services – On Jan. 14, 2021 at 3:00 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 400 block of West Lincoln Ave. in Jackson Twp. for a reported theft of services. In the commission of this crime, unknown Actor(s) entered the above location between Jan. 12, 2021 and Jan. 14, 2021, dumping garbage items in the dumpster. The unknown Actor(s) fled the scene in various vehicles in an unknown direction of travel. The Victim was Finish Lane II Car Wash in Myerstown. The stolen property included Trash Services.

North Annville Township

Missing Firearm – Sometime between May 31, 2020 at 12:00 a.m. and Jan. 8, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., this incident occurred. PSP Jonestown responded to SR 934 North for a report of a lost firearm. While cleaning her residence, the Victim discovered her firearm was missing. The Victim was a 51 year old Annville resident. The lost property included a Springfield Firearms Springfield MA XD 45 Caliber Semi Automatic Pistol, valued at $400.00. Investigation is ongoing.

Swatara Township

Vehicle Accident – On Jan. 13, 2021 at 8:12 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 1998 Saturn SL, driven by Operator 1, was traveling south on Grace Ave. in Swatara Twp. Unit 1 left the southbound lane of travel for unknown reasons. Unit 1 crossed the northbound lane before striking a ditch on the northbound shoulder of Grace Ave. Unit 1 came to final rest facing northbound on the northbound shoulder of Grace Ave. Operator 1 fled the scene of the crash. It is unknown whether or not Operator 1 was injured as a result of this crash. Unit 1 sustained minor front-end damage and was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing.

Union Township

Driving While DUI Suspended – On Jan. 9, 2021 at 2:55 a.m., at Jonestown Rd. and Shepherd St., a traffic stop conducted by members of PSP Jonestown found the vehicle Operator to be in violation of vehicle code section 1543B (Driving While DUI Suspended). As such, with a third offense for the vehicle code violation, charges have been filed through Magisterial District Court 52-3-04. The Arrestee was a 50 year old Jonestown man. The vehicles involved included a 2003 Dodge Chrysler.

Vehicle Accident – On Jan. 12, 2021 at 1:05 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2015 Ford F150XLT, driven by Operator 1, a 63 year old Hummelstown man, was traveling west on Moonshine Rd. when a deer ran out in the path of Unit 1. Unit 1’s front struck the deer and came to final rest partially blocking the westbound lane of Moonshine Rd. Operator 1 was not injured as a result of this crash.

Vehicle Accident – On Jan. 13, 2021 at 2:41 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia, was unoccupied and legally parked within an individual parking space located on the property of Love’s Travel Stop, located on Old Forge Rd. Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, was attempting to pull into an adjacent parking space when it sideswiped the rear driver’s side corner of Unit 2’s trailing unit, causing damage. After impact, Unit 1 exited the traffic way and fled the scene without stopping to provide information. All witnesses were gone prior to arrival on scene. An area canvass was conducted to locate Unit 1, which yielded negative results. It is unknown whether or not Operator 1 was injured as a result of this crash.

Theft – On Jan. 14, 2021 at 7:52 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown station responded to Kleinfelter Pl. for a report of a theft. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined that the Victim sent an unknown person a $150 Sephora gift card via email. The Victim was a 58 year old Jonestown woman. This investigation is ongoing.
