A Lebanon-based filmmaker has announced a casting call for speaking roles and extras in an upcoming project.
Annubis Productions hopes to get local community members involved as they cast actors for shoots throughout the fall season.
The auditions will take place at the Lebanon Valley Mall from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 27 for the streaming series, Diakonia, which is to be shot in Lebanon by Erik Soulliard.
Those interested can schedule an audition time between 12 and 4 p.m. or attend the open-call auditions between 4 and 8 p.m. Headshots can be sent in advance to casting@annubisproductions.com.
Tashina Roberson, owner of Central PA Talent and photographer for Studio 841, will be in attendance at the majority of the auditions. Roberson is searching for talent in the Lebanon, Harrisburg, and Lancaster areas in order to grow her talent base.
Diakonia is a superhero-style series about Ulima, who has been supernaturally gifted and called to do the Lord’s work. As Ulima travels from town to town, she encounters people with gifts that are different from her own. With the help of these people, she discovers and ends acts of evil. The cycle repeats with each new season as viewers follow along with Ulima in new places.
The tentative script for the series’ trailer was provided by Soulliard and is attached at the bottom of this article.
The trailer for the series will be shot at different Lebanon locations on RED cameras this fall. The first of which will be at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Sept. 10. The second location will be at the Lebanon Valley Mall.
Annubis Productions hopes to partner with additional local businesses for locations and sponsorships.
Soulliard wrote and directed The Creek, which was later released by Ryko Distribution & Indie-Pictures to DVD outlets. The debut feature film received numerous awards, including Atlanta Horrorfest, Best Horror Feature, Full Moon Film Festival, Milwaukee County Massacre Horror Convention, and Spooky Movie Film Festival.
According to their website, Annubis Productions is a production company based in downtown Lebanon that is composed of “award-winning, cinematic storytellers based in Central [Pennsylvania].”
Annubis Productions has produced music videos, short films, and We Are Lebanon, Pa videos, which have gained more than 100,000 views on Facebook. The production company has also worked with a variety of companies and nonprofit organizations.
