Myerstown store Brian’s Model Trains will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday, Dec. 3, with a combination of the retail outlet’s founding locomotive passion and local art.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Lebanon Valley artist Katie Trainer will carve out a “caboose-themed” ice sculpture from a massive chunk of ice.

The 109 W. Main Ave. store will feature a toy train display on the second floor, as well as special 20th anniversary pricing on everything you need to get started or expand your model train display.

Owner Brian Saul said he is staging the event as a “thank you” to all the people the store’s been privileged to do business with over the last 20 years.

“I want to see a large crowd from our community help Katie ‘do her thing’ and cheer her on as she creates this beautiful art right before our eyes,” said Saul in a press release. “This will be great fun for the whole family!”

Saturday, Dec. 3, also happens to be National Lionel Train Day, so Brian’s Model Trains will be one of the stores where an extremely limited edition 2022 National Lionel Train Day boxcar will be available for purchase.

Refreshments and free giveaways will also be available while the store is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Additionally, Brian’s Model Trains is collecting stuffed animals for the Hershey Bears annual Teddy Bear Toss. If you want to donate a stuffed animal to this event, bring it the store until the end of December.
