Update Aug. 26 – The Lebanon County Coroner’s office has identified the victim as 68-year-old Douglas Beckwith of Cornwall, according to a report by PennLive, which says that the death was ruled accidental.
The Lebanon County Coroner’s office was called out to the South 15th Avenue railroad crossing Tuesday, Aug. 19, after a pedestrian was struck by a train, according to county dispatch logs.
The first calls to the Norfolk Southern crossing, located in South Lebanon Township, came around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. The coroner’s office was called around midnight.
Norfolk Southern said that the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound train at 11:05 p.m. near the Cumberland Street overpass.
