LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
Our Pet of the Week is sometimes available for adoption through a local shelter. Other times the weekly column will spotlight a local furbaby who already lives in a happy Lebanon County home.
This week, meet Lola!
Lola is a tri-color Pembroke Welsh corgi. Not quite 2 years old, Lola “is already a celebrity at her local Lowes and Home Depot,” according to owners Ashley and Alex Jalowka, “so why not share her fame with the rest of LebTown?”
The couple says Lola is feisty, a “low-riding loaf of bread on four short stumps with a floofy tail, who lives a fiercely spoiled life.” Claiming royal heritage, she runs the house while her “paw-rents just pay the mortgage.”
They add that Lola is treated as “nothing short of a queen at home and won’t hesitate to talk back with her sass and soul-crushing side eye if she doesn’t get her way.”
“Once you’re able to get past the attitude, she’s an absolute snuggle bug and is so outgoing/social and friendly to everyone she meets. How could you not love her?”
A maven of fashion, Lola goes out on the town and travels the East Coast from Maine to Maryland while “showing off her Louis Vuitton collar.”
“Her legs may be little but that doesn’t stop her from walking endless miles on the beaches, the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail or just taking a stroll through the neighborhood (rain or shine),” Ashley and Alex say.
“Aside from walking and traveling, her other hobbies include playing with her friends at doggy daycare, playing with her cat sister Lily, terrorizing the robot vacuum, chasing birds, alerting the neighborhood to every fire truck/emergency vehicle (as if they are not loud enough), digging up the flower beds in search of bugs, jumping in the pool and swimming at her grand-paw-rents house, and manipulating everyone in the room into giving her extra treatos (especially freeze dried minnows and anything with peanut butter),” they say. “At the end of the day, she enjoys a good stretch and sploots everywhere she can.”
