Connie Mae Sherman Heck, of Lebanon, ran to the loving arms of her Savior and Friend, Jesus, on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026. Born in Lebanon on Aug. 7, 1945, Connie was the daughter of the late Donald James Sherman and Mae Helen Rittle Sherman Crawley. She was the beloved big sister, a title held only by her place in the birth order and not by height, and dearly loved among her many cousins.

Connie was a proud member of the Lebanon High School Class of 1963, with whom she gathered regularly. She retired from A&G Automotive, later NAPA, in Myerstown, where she worked for over 30 years. Connie was a talented musician, playing both piano and organ in church from her teen years until very recently. In her non-working hours, Connie was an active member of the Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, where she served on the Missions Committee, the Eagles Ministry, the Prayer Team, as part of the Wednesday Morning Prayer Group, in service with J-Rock, and as a cheerful supporter of youth and children’s ministries through financial support, letters of encouragement, and decorating for VBS.

In addition to her years of volunteer service, Connie will be remembered for wonderful meals, delicious Christmas cookies, and many personally made gifts for friends and family. Connie proudly shared the Sherman family sense of humor, meaning that she was not one to shy away from a silly pun or a goofy joke; however, she showed particular skill in her ability to make ridiculous but memorable lyrics to nearly every tune.

Connie is survived by her brother, Bruce (Teresa) Sherman, of Palmyra; step-sister, Brenda (Jeffrey) Barnhart, of Hummelstown; daughters, Karol (Brooks) Hasting, of Manheim, and Lora (Andrew) Strauss, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Cameron and Emma; and eight nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Brian Sherman; son, Dean A. Heck; and step-father, Wayne J. Crawley.

Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. Connie indulged them with constant reminders of her true and abiding affection by treating them to thoughtful experiences and sharing with them reminders of faith and encouragement. She was particularly proud of her grandchildren, taking great delight in telling everyone about them.

Her celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, at Lebanon Area Evangelical Free Church, 600 Shepherd St., Jonestown, PA 17038. Friends may call at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Youth Missions program at her church. Please include “Connie Heck – Youth Missions” on the memo line.
