Dennis W. Firestine, 76, passed away on Aug. 23, 2026, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and love.
Born on Feb. 8, 1950, to the late Howard and Betty (Spangler) Firestine, Dennis was a devoted son and was blessed with a loving family. He was a cherished father to Sean M. (Jennifer Reese) Firestine, of Myerstown, and Justin E. (Jessica Bronson) Firestine, of Pittsburgh; and grandchildren, Grace (Jeff) Antosh, Evelyn, and her fiancé, Benjamin Horst, Phoebe, Charlotte, Mia, and her fiancé, Mark Lengel, Jack, Max, and Scarlett, who brought him endless joy and pride. He was further blessed with his great-grandchildren, Morgan Lengel and Ophelia Antosh. Dennis was a beloved brother to Nancy (Glenn) Gockley, of Myerstown, and Sharon (Brian) Schell, of Lebanon.
Before spending 29 years employed by the Lebanon VA Hospital, Dennis began his working life at Webber Chevrolet in Myerstown at age 16 and later for Myerstown Borough at 18. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Vietnam. His bravery and dedication were matched only by the gentle warmth and compassion he extended to everyone he met. Whether sharing a joke with friends or offering support to loved ones, Dennis’s kind heart and gentle soul touched countless lives. He found joy in cooking, grilling, and sharing his masterful meals.
Dennis will be sorely missed, but his memory will live on eternally in the hearts of family and friends. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A procession will leave the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown, at 10 a.m.
