Donna Lee Pozorski, honorable wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to be with Jesus. She was born on June 1, 1946, at Citizen General Hospital, New Kensington, PA, to Joseph and Freida Nealer, who loved her enough to give her to John and Mary Heidenreich for adoption. She was cherished, protected, and loved but not spoiled.
At age 13, in 1960, at her first dance at the Tarentum YMCA, she met the love of her life and soulmate, Paul Pozorski, whom she would be with for 66 years. Four years later, they eloped to Fort Bragg, NC, and were married. They had two children, Paul Junior in 1965 and Shannon in 1969. Donna was an army wife for 36 years. She spent her time volunteering in many on-post projects, running the children to sporting events, and, after 1979, when she asked Jesus into her life, in the post’s chapel programs. Donna loved Jesus, and her life changed forever for the good.
She was an avid quilter but gave most of her quilts to charity, especially Domestic Violence Intervention, which was the Lebanon Quilters Guild’s ongoing charity project. She was happiest surrounded by friends with a needle in her hand. She cherished her friends in her Friday group of hand stitchers, The Loose Threads Group. She volunteered and was president of the Fort Indian Town Officers’ Wives and Lebanon Quilters Guild, participated in the Lebanon Agency on Aging Meals on Wheels program, and was named the Lebanon County volunteer of the year.
She has five wonderful grandchildren and one great-grandchild who knows how much she loved them. In 1989, she met her biological sisters, Eileen (deceased in 2015) and Anne, and kept in contact throughout their lives.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, from 8-10 a.m., at Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 126 S. 9th St., Lebanon, PA 17042.
