Gene A. Brown, 85, of Myerstown, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. He was the husband of Mary E. Brown, who passed away on Feb. 7, 2026.

Born in Berks County on Dec. 5, 1940, he was the son of the late Earl and Helen (Stupp) Brown. A 1959 graduate of Bethel High School, Gene farmed alongside his wife for over 40 years. He enjoyed hunting with his family, spending time at his place in New York, restoring tractors, and meeting up for coffee.

Gene is survived by his son, Ronald G. Brown, husband of Melody, of Richland; grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Fox, Joshua Brown, and Jeremy Brown; great-grandchildren, Elaina and Brantley Fox; brother, Walter Brown; and sisters, Bette Huber and Lois Snyder.

In addition to his wife and parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Brown and Richard Brown.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, at 11 a.m., at Grose Funeral Home Inc., 358 W. Washington St., Myerstown, PA 17067, with Pastor Mario Madden officiating. A viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Salem Reformed Cemetery, Bethel, PA.
