Joseph Charles Foushee, 60, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 31, 2026.
Born on Sept. 4, 1965, in Lee County, NC, he was the son of Edna L. (Wall) Foushee and the late Oscar Thomas Foushee. Joseph was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, serving honorably for 24 years. He later continued his dedication to service as a civilian worker with the Department of Defense. Above all, he was a devoted husband, bonus father, friend, and “G-Pop” who showed love and strength in everything he did. “God everyday created” in him, and in the way he loved his family.
Joseph loved the water. He cherished trips and time outdoors, especially fishing and trawling, and he never lost his spirit for adventure. When he spoke of Louisiana, he always referred to it as “home,” and he loved returning to the bayou. Whether it was traveling with his wife or making memories together, he often called it “Foushee Adventures Continue.” He loved his family and friends fiercely, embracing them with the kind of loyalty and heart only a few people are blessed to experience.
He is survived by his soulmate and wife, Raven Hunter-Foushee, of Fort Wayne, IN, where the two were building their life together; bonus son, Kamryn Zachary Hunter; bonus daughter, Jaylen Renee’ Smith; and daughters, Jazmyne Nicole Gudger and Amanda Elizabeth Foushee. He is also survived by bonus grandchildren, Damon Everett Hunter and Athena Rose’ Perkins; and grandchildren, Genesis Nevaeh Garrett, Christopher Jack Bane Gudger, Jazmyne Marissa Harley Gudger, and Aahznna Gabrielle Bethea. He is further survived by six sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Charles will be deeply missed and forever loved. He leaves behind a legacy of service, devotion, and unforgettable love.
