Melissa J. Risser, 39, of Grantville, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026, at MS Hershey Medical Center after an automobile accident.
Melissa was born in Lebanon on May 30, 1987, to Richard G. and Elizabeth (Killinger) Risser of Lebanon. She graduated from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre in West Virginia. She was a laborer at Penn National Race Way, having worked for Amy Albright with her horses. She loved animals, dogs, listening to music, and being in the mountains and outdoors. She also enjoyed working with the horses.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her sister, Michelle E. Kreiser, and her husband, Josh; paternal grandmother, Mary Risser; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her companion, Jonathan Caraballo.
The memorial service information will be posted as soon as it is available. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to an animal shelter in your local area.
