Yes, it is! Through both a state law and local ordinances, everyone within Lebanon City limits must recycle. In fact, there are no exceptions. What are you required to recycle?
Residents are required to recycle these clean and dry items in their curbside container:
- Clear, brown & green glass bottles/jugs
- Aluminum & steel/bimetallic cans
- #1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs
- Newspaper
- Corrugated cardboard (clean and flattened)
Businesses, institutions, and organizations are required to recycle:
- Clear, brown & green glass bottles/jugs

Leaves must also be collected separately from trash. The city has leaf pick-up dates posted on its website at LebanonPA.org as well as a host of information about recycling.
