Frederick Rutter Hofnagle was born on Jan. 17, 1931, and died on Dec. 16, 2020, at StoneRidge Retirement Center in Myerstown, PA.

Frederick was the only child of Edna May Rutter, from Jonestown, PA. He worked and retired from Bethlehem Steel with over 40 years of service. Frederick loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, riding bike, and walks through the woods. He was very good at skiing and ice skating. He loved to talk to people and to share stories with them on his journey through life. He also loved taking fly fishing trips to various places but his favorite was to the Stony creek in the blue mountains with his only son, Fred.

Frederick was the husband of Stella Tropasso who died on Jan. 5, 2019, they were married 65 years. In addition to Fred Thomas Hofnagle, Frederick is also survived by two grandchildren, Brian Hofnagle and Chad Hofnagle, and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Savannah.

Frederick will be missed very much and remembered always. A memorial will be held in the spring.
