Lebanon Bicycle Recycle is gearing up for its annual Spring Fling Bicycle Giveaway on Saturday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The community-centered event, which will be held at 53 Chestnut St., is focused on promoting healthy outdoor activities and bicycle safety.

This year’s Spring Fling Bicycle Giveaway will offer local children 10 years old and under free 20-inch or smaller bicycles and properly sized helmets. As of April 8, the nonprofit organization was on its way to hitting its goal of 100 bicycles for the event.

“Every child deserves the joy and freedom of riding their own bike, and this event aims to make that a reality for families in our community,” a press release from Lebanon Bicycle Recycle stated.

In addition to the bicycle and helmet giveaway, the event will feature a bicycle safety course, a coloring contest, snacks, and prizes so that participants can learn about responsible cycling, tap into their creativity, and stay energized.

The nonprofit offers older children bicycles on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. at 53 Chestnut St. as well.

In addition to the upcoming giveaway for children 10 years old and under, Lebanon Bicycle Recycle provides older children and adults with opportunities to get involved with cycling. (Provided photo)

The Lebanon Bicycle Recycle’s Adult Earn a Bike Program gives local adults a chance to learn how to repair bicycles while earning a refurbished bicycle for themselves. This hands-on educational program is made possible by donations of bicycles and parts for bicycles from the community.

Volunteers will be present at this year’s Spring Fling Bicycle Giveaway to help adults who are interested in the program sign up.
