This past week I needed to run in to town and get some errands done during lunchtime, so of course I was going to pick up lunch along the way. I stopped for a slice and sandwich from J&S Pizza.

Located in the unit block of West Main Street in downtown Annville, this place offers dine-in and take-out service. They have a menu posted online that has pizza, calzones, dinners and everything in between. Limited parking is available in the back and along the Main Street.

For our lunch today, we got a slice of buffalo chicken pizza ($3.99) and special Italian sub sandwich ($8.15).

The slice came with grilled chicken, ranch, mozzarella, and mild buffalo sauce. The slice itself presents beautifully. It isn’t often a slice looks that good out of the oven.

A slice of buffalo chicken pizza.

Plenty of ranch made this ranch lover happy eating this slice. Imagine how good this would be if was hot sauce instead of mild? But I digress. A crunchy crust finished off this near perfect slice.

The special Italian came on a fresh roll with capicola and extra mayo. It could also come toasted, but I didn’t get it toasted. I always order my sandwiches with extra mayo, and they added plenty of mayo for my liking.

A special Italian sub.

This sandwich is not overloaded with the meats and cheese, it has the right amount. To me it was a regular Italian. Possibly it tastes different toasted, but I’m unlikely to find that one out on my own.

Our take: J&S is a small pizza shop with a very expansive menu. The prices are fair, and the portion sizes fit. They put together a good pie and has the taste to match. You will get a good quality sandwich. It should be easy to find what you’re looking for on the menu. The only thing its lacking is a unique dish.
