Good Friday morning,

Friday’s daytime high was achieved very early in the morning at 4 a.m. when temps hit 45 degrees.

As advertised in many previous updates on the Lebanon County Weather page, a very powerful Arctic front will be crossing the state and impacting our region directly between 8 and 11 a.m.

With this front, temps will CRASH some 20 degrees in less than one hour. Also, we expect a squall line of blinding snow to develop during this passage. 1 to 2 inches is likely, and while the front will be quick to move in and quick to move out, enhanced lift across the region should provide just enough to make for extremely dangerous driving conditions.

In other words, stay home and don’t venture out unless absolutely necessary.

By 3 p.m. on Friday, temps will be in the teens, with wind chills hitting ten or twenty degrees below zero as winds will continue to crank right into Christmas Eve.

This will likely be the coldest Christmas on record since 1983!

On Christmas Day, temps will warm slightly into the upper teens with wind chills only just below zero.

One last thing. Our sponsors, the fine folks at Jono Ace Hardware, want to say first and foremost, thank you to all their customers and Merry Christmas from everyone at Jono Hardware. BUT ALSO!!! If You do need a last minute gift, they are the perfect place to go. Shop local, give generously, and have an amazing Christmas (even if it includes a fair bit of toy assembly – Jono has tools for that too!).

– Justin
