Elisabeth L. Shiffer, 88, of Lebanon, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of Rev. Eugene L. Shiffer. On November 12th, they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Born in Darby, PA, on April 16, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Karl W. and Gertrude A. Auner Bergner.

She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. Elisabeth loved music, and she taught organ and piano for over 50 years. She was a loving and supportive wife for her husband as he pastored at the Follmer Parish in Potts Grove, Jonestown Lutheran Parish, Salem Lutheran Church in Reamstown, the Mt. Zion Parish in Lebanon, and currently Christ Lutheran Church in Stouchsburg. She served as the church organist and choir director in many churches. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the Lebanon Co. Choral Society, and the Harmonia Music Assoc. of Lebanon. She served as a past president for the PTA during her children’s elementary school years, The Friends of Spang Crest, and Friends of Luther Acres. She loved to travel and camp, and along with her husband, they traveled to all 50 states and throughout Canada. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching, cooking, baking, and decorating, especially for Christmas. Above all, she was a woman of faith and loved her family with her whole heart.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Stephen E. and his wife Faith Shiffer of Stevens and Peter E. Shiffer of Ephrata; and her daughter Christa E. Shiffer of Wyomissing.

She was preceded in death by her brother K. Roland Bergner.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zoar Evangelical Lutheran Church, 560 Freeport Rd., Lebanon. A viewing will be held beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will be private at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Rife.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zoar Lutheran Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church, or to Christ Lutheran Church, 27 Long’s Church Lane, Womelsdorf, PA 19567.
