A Lebanon man was shot to death early Friday morning on Chapel Street, an alley just west of 710 Cumberland Street in Downtown Lebanon.

Lebanon County Emergency Management Service logs show a call to that address was dispatched at 1:57 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27.

Lebanon City Police reported that the 38 year old man was found in the alley and taken to a hospital where he died. His identity was being withheld as of 3:30 p.m. Friday, pending notification of next-of-kin.

The victim and the shooter are believed to have known one another. Police said a fight broke out at a Thanksgiving night party held in the first floor of 710 Cumberland Street.

Persons interviewed at the scene later Friday morning said the party was in the rear portion of the building, which has an entrance on the alley.

Police confirmed that there was video surveillance in the area, which they were in the process of collecting. A detective carrying what appeared to be electronic equipment was seen leaving the alley entrance to the building late Friday morning.

Firefighters from the Union Fire Company were in the alley shortly after 9:00 a.m. Friday, cleaning the scene with bleach and fire hoses. Several chalk circles were visible on the alley surface.

As of 3:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon, police had not identified a suspect nor said whether anyone was in custody.
