Here are the most recent food safety violations in Lebanon County, as documented by Pennsylvania’s Department of Agriculture.

Inspections are taken as a “snapshot” of the day and time, and should not necessarily be taken as overall indicators of an establishment’s cleanliness. Violations are often corrected prior to the inspector leaving the site. Restaurants were found to be in compliance unless otherwise noted.

The interior of the ice machine, a food contact surface, was observed to have a slight amount of residue and was not clean to sight.

6 – 501.12 Cleaning, Frequency and Restrictions
Frequency of cleaning under equipment in the deli/bakery/hot food prep area is not adequate as evidenced by debris that is present.

5 – 203.14 Backflow Prevention Device, When Required
Lack of a backflow prevention device on the water line in the mop room area.

3 – 501.17 Ready-to-Eat, Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Date Marking
An item in the seafood department was dated improperly. Discarded.

6 – 301.11 Handwashing Cleanser, Availability
No sign or poster posted at the handwash sink in the employee toilet room to remind food employees to wash their hands.

6 – 501.114 Maintaining Premises, Unnecessary Items and Litter
Back room of facility is filled with mattresses and other items that are not appropriate for a food facility. All old equipment and rubbish should be removed from the facility.

7 – 201.11 Separation-Storage
Cleaning products were on a shelf above food products. Corrected.

6 – 202.15 Outer Openings, Protected
Rear door located in the rear area of the food facility has a gap and does not protect against the entry of insects, rodents, and other animals.

6 – 301.12 Hand Drying Provision
No towels in the employee toilet room.

6 – 302.11 Toilet Tissue, Availability
Toilet paper is not on a dispenser.

5 – 501.17 Toilet Room Receptacle, Covered
Women’s toilet room is not provided with a covered waste receptacle for sanitary napkins.

Food facility is reusing plastic deli containers as a scoop utensil, this type of item is intended to be a single-service or single-use article.

3 – 501.17 Ready-to-Eat, Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Date Marking
Potentially hazardous food prepared in the food facility and held for more than 48 hours, located in the walk-in cooler, is not being date marked.

3 – 302.11 Packaged and Unpackaged Food-Separation, Packaging & Segregation
Raw shell eggs were over prepared food in the walk-in cooler. Corrected immediately.

4 – 602.13 Nonfood-Contact Surfaces
Non-food contact surfaces not cleaned at a frequency to preclude accumulation of dirt and soil.

Potential rodent harborage areas on the exterior of the building perimeter observed along the exterior area due to leaves, crates, skids, and debris next to the wall of the building. Potential rodent harborage areas inside the food facility observed in the retail area due to observation of one mouse dropping on product shelf.

5 – 501.15 Outside Receptacles
Facility has a very small outside trash receptical; garbage is all over the ground next to the receptical.
