On Sunday, November 3, 2024, Calvary Chapel Lebanon will celebrate a significant milestone as Pastor Thom Keller transitions from his role as Senior Pastor to an advisory capacity with Pastor Duane Miller assuming the role of Senior Pastor. Both Thom and Duane have been instrumental in the church’s development since its founding in 2001, and both will continue to serve on the teaching team, committed to the verse-by-verse teaching of God’s Word.

Pastor Thom and his wife, Sue, have faithfully served together as a team. Alongside many dedicated individuals and families, they have been instrumental in shaping Calvary Chapel Lebanon’s ministry to the greater Lebanon County community. Sue’s brother, Ted, has also been a steadfast support throughout the journey and is treasured by the church family. What began as a small Bible study in 1995 flourished into a vibrant ministry under their leadership. Over the years, the church has expanded its reach through various programs, including the Truth FM radio outreach ministry, which broadcasts biblical teaching across central Pennsylvania, including Pastor Thom’s Study the Word program. More than anything else, and in his own words, Pastor Thom describes himself as simply “a sinner saved by grace.”

Pastor Duane and his wife, Sheri, have also been integral to the church’s growth since its early days. Duane became one of the pastors in 2011 and, earlier this year stepped into the role of Interim Senior Pastor during Thom’s sabbatical. Together, Duane and Sheri’s ministry has been marked by a deep commitment to the congregation and a heart for the marginalized, including those in addiction recovery, and families impacted by disability.

With Duane and Sheri’s experience in the church and counseling ministries, they have worked closely with Thom and Sue, as well as the many others who contribute to making Calvary Chapel Lebanon the thriving church it is today. This transition is not a shift in the church’s identity but a continuation of its steadfast mission: to teach the Word of God chapter by chapter, verse by verse, and to serve the community through outreach ministries like Truth FM, the Women’s Shelter on Willow, and the U-Turn for Christ recovery program—all of which have become pillars of the church’s ministry in Lebanon County.

As Calvary Chapel Lebanon embarks on this new chapter, the focus remains on the congregation’s collective commitment to God, His Word, and the community. The church’s mission will continue to emphasize compassionate outreach, especially to the inner-city population of Lebanon, ensuring that the love of Christ is demonstrated in practical ways.

The community is warmly invited to join Calvary Chapel on Sunday, November 3, 2024, as we honor Pastor Thom and Sue for their years of faithful dedication and leadership. We will also welcome Pastor Duane and Sheri as they step into this new season together, with Duane assuming the role of Senior Pastor. Sunday worship services will be held at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. at 740 Willow Street, Lebanon, PA.
