Eleanor A. Hart, 92, of Lancaster passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the Willow Valley Retirement Community. She was the wife of the late Norman Hart who died in 2014.
Born in Philadelphia on August 19, 1928, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Wright) Austin. She was a graduate of Dale Carnegie Training. She was a former member and Sunday School teacher at St. Giles Episcopal Church in Upper Darby. She was a beloved Girl Scout leader and assistant director of a day camp.
Eleanor enjoyed various volunteer roles and was very active for 21 years in the Seminole Spokes Newcomers Club in Lake Mary, FL. She spent a lifetime being a positive and encouraging person who spread light, love, and life to everyone she met. There are very few people as accomplished as she was at accepting others as they were, nurturing them toward what they could become, and blessing them with a touch of Heaven.
She is survived by her son, Ken B. husband of Cheryl Hart, of Cape Cod, MA, her daughter, Nancy L. wife of Greg Shean, of Lebanon, eight grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son “Skip” F.D. Hart, her brother Frank Austin, Jr., her sister Phyllis Espenschied, and her sister Barbara Hart.
Eleanor loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are as follows: grandchildren, Chris Hart, Jamie Hart, Abigail Regan, Luke Hart, Lydia Hart, Ben Shean, Leigh Ann Smith, and Keri Shean; and great-grandchildren Ethan Hart, Jaimie Hart, Seth Regan, Caleb Regan, Sarah Regan, Nehemiah Regan, Grace Regan, Faith Regan, Mercy Regan, Philip Regan, John Regan, Alaina Shean, Brayden Smith, and Cohen Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 & Camp Meeting Rd., Jonestown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
