According to a report by WITF, the United Way of Lebanon County is one of several organizations to receive a grant to help Puerto Ricans displaced by Hurricane Maria.

Lebanon County was the number one area in terms of proportional impact of Hurricane Maria on incoming new students to area schools.

Lutheran Disaster Response is underwriting the grants, which are being administered by Diakon Lutheran Ministries.

The Latino Hispanic American Community Center in Harrisburg and the York YMCA New American Welcome Center also received grants. Although grant value was not disclosed, based on other grants the amount is probably in the $1,000 to $10,000 range.
