Rutter’s convenience store confirmed today that the company is actively exploring opportunities in the Jonestown area, but no location is currently on the schedule.
Meaning: It could be a few years before you can head out to Jonestown for your daily biscuits-and-gravy (the Lebanon Bolgona version, naturally).
Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz posted to Facebook earlier today that the company was looking at the old Bamberger lot.
Although construction has not yet begun, the Cumberland Street store is still scheduled to open in 2019, but no confirmed opening date is available at this time. That store will be on the former site of Agway, which was for a period land unfit for use due to remnant fertilizer seepage.
As of August, Rutter’s had 71 locations, almost all in Pennsylvania. The company’s first and only store outside the state (so far) is in Inwood, WV.
