After a brief interlude, produce is back at the Lebanon Farmers Market.

The stand is being run by Laurie Funk, owner of The Important Thing, a coffee bar in another corner of the market. When we stopped by yesterday, Funk said she’s been getting great feedback from the community, with bananas, grapes, broccoli, and cauliflower being popular selections so far.

The stand came to be through a connection with Candy-Rama owner Bob Smith (also owner of Sunset Grocery Outlet), who helped Funk identify a produce supplier. Funk mentioned that Keener Poultry has been very supportive too.

With staff who wanted to work and customers who wanted to buy, Funk’s new business line is part of the overall market mix that she says has been attracting more traffic as of late.

The Lebanon Farmers Market is open Thursday and Friday 8am to 7pm and Saturday 7am to 3pm.
