The Friends of the Cornwall Iron Furnace will host their annual dinner on Tuesday, June 11, featuring a speech on Pennsylvania Dutch powwow customs.

The hot buffet dinner will begin at 6:30pm June 11 at the Timbers Restaurant in Mt. Gretna.

A short business meeting will take place during the evening but the main event will be a talk by fluent PA Dutch speaker and director of the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center at Kutztown University, Patrick Donmoyer.

Donmoyer will explore “Powwowing in Pennsylvania: Healing Rituals of the Dutch Country” and introduce the audience to the prayers and processes used for healing and protection in the PA Dutch tradition.

Tickets are available for $35 per person and may be reserved with a credit card by calling the Cornwall Iron Furnace at 717-272-9711 by June 2. Tickets may also be purchased by sending a check to Friends of Cornwall Iron Furnace (CIFA) at Box 251, Cornwall PA 17016. Please include the number of persons and a telephone contact.
