A GoFundMe campaign has been created to support a local firefighter who suffered a heart attack over the weekend while on the job.

On the night of June 14, Firefighter Jeffery Iceman was responding to a call on Ladder 36 with the Community Fire Company of Cornwall for a two-alarm fire at 908 2nd Ave in South Lebanon Township.

Shortly after arriving at the scene, Iceman suffered a heart attack and collapsed. Fellow firefighters and EMS personnel on the scene administered medical care and were able to resuscitate him.

Iceman was then transported to Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.

The GoFundMe campaign was started to assist Iceman and his family pay for personal expenses, as he is facing a lengthy recovery time and will be unable to work.

Iceman was active in the Lebanon City Fire Department and was a captain of Engine 16 during the 1990’s.

Iceman’s community recognition isn’t limited to his firefighting career, either—he was named the 2017 Hersheypark Outstanding Team Member of the Year, just two years after joining the company.
