A 51 year old woman was discovered in distress on the Rail Trail in Lebanon Friday morning.
Update Sunday 7:30pm: Police say the woman is now conscious and alert and recovering at a local medical facility. She told investigators she was not assaulted.
According to a release by Lebanon City Police, the woman was discovered on the Rail Trail between 8th and 9th Streets at about 6:12am Friday. The release states that an employee of a business in that area located the woman after she was heard yelling, but observed no one else leaving the area.
Police do not believe that the woman was using the trail for recreational purposes. It is not known exactly what happened to the woman or why she was on the trail. The release notes that Lebanon City Police have been unable to interview the woman, but she has been identified and family members are aware of her treatment at a local medical facility. The extent of her injuries was not described by police.
