The Cornwall Iron Furnace‘s annual beer, wine, and spirits-tasting event, ‘Cornwall Blast,’ will return to the historic furnace for its 8th year.
Tickets for the event are on sale now. It will be held at the Furnace on Friday, August 16, beginning at 6:00pm and ending at 9:00pm. A ticket includes access to the beer and wine samples provided by local wineries, distilleries, and breweries, a full pork and chicken barbecue dinner from Hess Barbecue, souvenir mugs, and a raffle event with themed gift baskets as prizes.
Entertainment provided by none other than local musician Wayne Fox will also be included in the evening’s events. Fox will play live jazz on keyboard.
Purchase advance tickets for $40 either at the Furnace on 94 Rexmont Road in Cornwall or by calling 717-272-9711. Tickets sold on the day of the event will be $45.
For designated drivers or attendees 18-20 years old, advance tickets are $25, which rise to $30 on August 17. All attendees must be at least 18 years old, and all tickets include the above benefits, with the exception of alcohol access. Non-alcoholic drinks will instead be available for those unable to sample the selection.
Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to purchase early, as tickets are limited.
The Friends of Cornwall Iron Furnace is sponsoring the event, which will raise funds for the organization. The event’s name refers to the cold-blast style of iron production originally operated in the furnace. The site remains “Americaโs most complete charcoal-fueled ironmaking complex,” according to their webpage.
An earlier version of this post had the incorrect date for the event. We regret the error.
