The Lebanon County Commission For Women (LCCW) is now accepting nominees to the 2020 Women’s Hall of Fame and they need your help to find them. Honorees will be inducted into the LCCW Hall of Fame at a luncheon on March 25 during Women’s History Month.
The Commission was established in 2003 by the Lebanon County Commissioners to inform and advise them on issues of concern to women in Lebanon County. Topics include housing, transportation, health care, child care and education.
In 2010, the Commission created the Women’s Hall of Fame as a way to pay special tribute to women who have used their talents to increase the quality of life in Lebanon County, and hear their stories.
Nominations are being accepted until 4pm on Thursday, October 31 in the following categories: Leadership, Community, Agriculture, Athletics, Justice, Healthy Lifestyles/Health Care, Arts, Education, Military and Science/Technology. Your nominees must live or work in Lebanon County.
Think about the women in your life. Your nominee doesn’t have to be famous or in the public eye. Maybe she’s a teacher or school board member, or a nurse or health care worker, on the town council, a friend or neighbor who does volunteer work.
The fine print:
The nominee’s accomplishments and contributions to our community should be described in detail in the nomination.
Awards will not be presented in categories where fewer than three nominations have been received.
Nominees that are not selected for induction to the 2020 Hall of Fame will automatically be submitted for nomination the following year.
Current members of the Lebanon County Commission for Women, previous inductees, and members of the Hall of Fame committee are not eligible for nomination.
The list of these persons is available on the website.
Nomination forms and information about the LLCW and the Hall of Fame are on their website. You can also request a form with email at lebanonc4w@gmail.com.
Even easier is the online nomination form.
The Commission calls them our “hidden heroines” and with your help, these deserving women will have their moment in the spotlight.
Nomination deadline is 4pm on Thursday, October 31.
