The National Park Service released some great photos of the National Christmas Tree and we wanted to share them with our readers.
Installed on the Ellipse in late October, the tree was lit at a Dec. 5 ceremony attended by the Palmyra family who donated it. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump attended as well, with the First Lady carrying out the ceremonial act of “lighting” the tree.
News broke in October that the 30′ Colorado blue spruce had been found in Palmyra. LebTown got the story of how a Virginia tree company employee had spotted the perfect specimen while on a summer visit to Hersheypark.
The tree company employee knew the National Park Service was on the hunt for a new tree, so he rang the doorbell and met owners Lin Ly and Kimleang Sour, originally from Cambodia but now U.S. citizens.
As we said at the time, “It’s a very American story.” LebTown is proud to be sharing this great tale with you. Enjoy the rest of the National Park Service photos below.
