Update March 12: The grand opening has been postponed. Although no explanation has been offered, COVID-19 concerns are one possibility. Rutter’s suggested that the event would be rescheduled but no new date was immediately available.

The new West Lebanon Rutter’s opened its doors last Thursday, Feb. 27, with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, March 18.

LebTown stopped by this weekend to get some photos of the newly-open gas station, which features 14 standard fueling positions and five dedicated high-speed truck diesel fueling lanes.

The following fuel types are available: flex fuel, unleaded 15, ethanol-free, regular, mid-grade, premium, and diesel. In-lane diesel exhaust fluid is available as well. A free air pump is also located on-site.

50 people are expected to be employed at this location, which is open 24/7. Current job listings for the location include team member and assistant store manager.

Inside the store, the cafe and beer cave are both open for business, with the store able to seat 30 indoors (there is also free wifi and additional outdoors seating). The video gaming terminal room is not yet open, pending “application review,” but the company confirmed that five machines are expected once that occurs.

The Rutter’s menu features all-day breakfast options as well as lunch/dinner selections and snacks, including regional favorites like whoopie pies and pork egg rolls. Although the company has dabbled with sweet bologna in its menu items in the past, it appears that no current menu items feature the Lebanon delicacy.

Unfortunately, store management did not permit us to take photos inside, so the only shot we have to share today is this provided photo of a beverages cooler inside the store.

According to a company spokesperson, the grand opening event on March 18 will feature a charitable donations presentation, free samples, giveaways, a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a tasting by State College-based Otto’s Brewery.
