Bethel Township

In the commission of this crime on March 13 at 7:10 p.m. a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle being operated by Stephen Johnson, a 23-year-old Greensboro, NC man, on I-78 W for having an obscured registration. During the stop Johnson related he had marijuana and a handgun in the cabin area of his car. A probable cause search was conducted in which marijuana and a Glock Model 27, 40 caliber semi-auto handgun, containing a loaded 32 round extended magazine were seized. A loaded 50 round drum magazine and two other loaded 9 round magazines were also seized with the handgun. Johnson did not possess a permit to carry a firearm in PA or any other state. Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to station. The charges of Firearm Not to be Carried Without a License (F3), Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and related traffic offenses were completed on Johnson. Johnson was transported to Lebanon County Central Booking where he was arraigned on $25,000 monetary bail.

This crash occurred as Unit 1 was traveling east on SR 22 on March 14 at 11:14 a.m. For unknown reasons, Operator #1 lost control of Unit 1. Unit 1 left the roadway and struck a traffic sign located on the south side of the roadway. Unit 1 then fled the scene traveling in an unknown direction. City of Lebanon

On Feb. 29 at 12:06 a.m., State Police stopped a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Curtis Carroll, a 29-year-old Lebanon man, after observing traffic violations. Further investigation revealed the driver was operating the above vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. The driver was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Charges pending.

Heidelberg Township

On March 11 at 4:15 p.m., Troopers responded to Heidelberg Ave. for a report of a fraudulent check. Upon arrival on scene, the victim related an unknown actor messaged the victim inquiring about a dining room set that was listed for sale on Craigslist. The unknown actor sent the victim a cashier’s check that was fraudulent. The victim crashed this check and sent money to an unknown delivery person. After the victim cashed this check and paid the delivery person, the victim’s bank requested the money back.

This crash occurred on March 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of Albright Road and Gravel Hill Road. unit 1 was traveling south on Albright Road. For an unknown reason, Unit 1 drove into a grassy area that separates the “Y” intersection of Albright Road and Gravel Hill Road. While traveling through the grassy area, Unit 1 struck a small tree. Unit 1 then fled the area in an unknown direction.

Jackson Township

This crash occurred along SR 501 in Jackson Township on March 13 at 5:28 p.m. Unit 1, a Chrysler 200, and Unit 2, a 2006 Ford 500, were traveling north on the road. Unit 2 was traveling north when the motorist in front of him slowed to make a left hand turn. Unit 1 failed to slow down and struck the rear end of Unit 2. Both units pulled safely off the side of the road under their own power after impact. Unit 1 sustained minor front end damage from the impact. Unit 2 sustained minor rear end damage from the impact. No injuries reported.

On March 15 at 8:00 a.m. North Lebanon Township Police were dispatched to 1752 Heilmandale Road for a female (Charity Thome) trespassing at the location. Thome was encountered in a Honda Accord. Thome was able to elude the police at that time. On March 16 at approximately at 1:55 a.m., Troop L, Jonestown, received a call which indicated Thome was at 1752 Heilmandale Road attempting to break into the residence. North Lebanon Township Police encountered Thome and initiated a pursuit. PSP Jonestown Midnight Patrol became involved in the pursuit when the pursuit entered Jackson Township. PSP Jonestown became the primary pursuit vehicle. During the pursuit a police immobilization technique was used to stop the vehicle. Thome attempted to elude the officers and rammed an occupied North Lebanon township police vehicle. Troopers exited their Patrol vehicle issuing commands for Thome to exit her her vehicle. Thome refused to comply with their commands and continued to accelerate into the North Lebanon Police car thus risking the safety of the North Lebanon Township Officer and Troopers. The Troopers then `discharged their weapon to stop her actions. Troopers immediately attend to the female and administered first aid to her injuries until the EMS arrived on scene. The female was pronouced dead on scene.

North Lebanon Township

Assault – Skyler Thompson, a 29 year old Lebanon woman, was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault after an incident that occurred on March 5, 2020 at her residence.

Scattering Rubbish – A 47 year old Lebanon man was charged with scattering rubbish after dumping garbage in the 1700 block of Route 72.

Retail Theft – An 18 year old Fredericksburg female and a 16 year old Fredericksburg female were charged with retail theft and conspiracy after an incident that occurred at the Lebanon Wal-Mart on February 17. They were apprehended after failing to pay for $101 worth of merchandise.

On March 14 at 10:00 a.m. a commercial vehicle carrying milk/Swiss drinks failed to recognize a Chevy Silverado turning left from the northbound lane. The commercial vehicle attempted to swerve to the left of the Chevy Silverado to avoid it but crashed into it. The commercial vehicle continued traveling north in the left lane, went down a ditch and overturned on its left side. Suspected minor injuries to the Chevy Silverado operator.

Union Township

The Pennsylvania State Police Jonestown is actively investigating a missing person cold case which occurred on December 12, 2000, in Union Township. It had been reported to PSP Jonestown Station that Eric Wayne Pyles, a 12-year-old male juvenile, had not returned home after getting off the school bus. PSP Jonestown members along with outside agencies searched for Pyles. Pyles was never located. Pyles was last seen wearing the following: black sneakers, blue jeans, gray sweatshirt with deer picture on the front, blue flannel jacket, and was carrying a Redskins book bag. PSP Jonestown Station is asking anyone with information to come forward. On March 14, a search was conducted in the area of Awol Road west of Silvertown Road, north of Awol Road. The search was conducted using PSP Cadets and members from the Jonestown Station of the PSP. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call PSP Jonestown Station, Criminal Investigations Unit, at 717-865-2194.

West Lebanon Township

Simple Assault – Tony Fake, a 39 year old Lebanon man, was charged with simple assault – domestic violence and harassment after an incident at his residence on March 3, 2020.
