There is no better way to experience the beauty of Lebanon County than by bicycle. Is there a better way to really see the beauty of our county than by riding bike?

The mere act of slowing down and experiencing nature upfront and personal is so therapeutic. It is the wind in your face, blood pumping to your legs, and the feeling of being full alive.

With the diverse landscape of the Lebanon Valley, many prefer to ride the roads throughout the county to experience the simple beauty of our farmlands, open fields and rolling hills.

Others, like myself, prefer an early morning, low stress-route on the Rail Trails with a designated tree lined path that feels as close to heaven as I can imagine.

Tour de Lebanon Valley Bike Ride is happening this year on Saturday, July 18. To ensure extreme safety measures, we will be staggering the departure times and allowing access to the route several days earlier if interested.

This event was designed to highlight the beauty of our Lebanon Valley and to encourage many to experience a healthy and safe exercise opportunity. The ride encompasses most of the Lebanon Valley from Mt. Gretna, Schaefferstown, Palmyra and more. It passes preserved farmlands and some of the most scenic views within our county.

With the combination of three different rides and distances available, we hope to attract all levels of bikers with a 62-mile ride around the entire county, a 25-mile picturesque ride, and a 10-mile Family Fun ride through the Rail Trails. Registration is available at www.TourdeLebanonValley.com. Proceeds from the ride this year will support the new Pump Park for children at Coleman Memorial Park. This project is a fun and unique way to encourage children to learn the sport of cycling while also enjoying the outdoors and exercise.

Biking is more popular than ever right now. Since the start of this pandemic, more people are cycling as a way to stay entertained and enjoy a family-friendly activity for all ages. By encouraging our community to partake in a bicycling event, we are also advocating for cleaner air, quieter streets, socially distant transportation, outdoor activity, and exercise. So, grab your bike and get outside! Enjoy the Lebanon Valley and all of its beauty on two wheels.

Registration for the Tour de Lebanon Valley is available here.
