LebTown is featuring a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
This week’s pet is Sookie, owned by Stephanie Speicher.
Just about two years old (in people years), Sookie is believed to be a mix between lab and hound, although Speicher hasn’t done an official test.
Sookie was adopted in November 2019 from Furry Friends Network. Sookie was found as a stray in West Virginia prior to finding her forever home with Speicher through Pennsylvania-based Furry Friends.
“She is named after one of my favorite characters,” said Speicher of Sookie’s namesake, Sookie St. James, from her favorite TV show, Gilmore Girls.
Of her Sookie, Speicher says she’s a bundle of “energy and love.” Sookie loves people and making ne wfriends.
“She’s super adventurous and loves walking on the Lebanon Valley Rail Trail and hiking in Swatara State Park and the PA Game Lands,” said Speicher. Sookie also loves cuddling up on the couch.
Calling her a “total sweetheart”, Speicher said that “every who meets (Sookie) loves her.”
