Bethel Township

Harassment – On Aug. 21, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the 2,000 block of SR 22 for a report of an inactive domestic. Investigation revealed the Victim was grabbed and cornered into the wall by the Arrestee. The Victim’s phone was also damaged during the incident. The Arrestee was cited for Harassment within MDJ 52-3-03. The Arrestee was a 36 year old Lancaster man. The Victim was a 39 year old Eatonville, WA woman. PSP is investigating.

Criminal Homicide – On Aug. 22, 2020 at approximately 11:46 p.m., members from the PSP Troop L Major Case Team responded to the 100 block of North Pine Grove St. in Bethel Twp. for a reported assault in which an unknown male called to ask for an ambulance because he assaulted his father. Through investigation and interviews, the Arrestee, Noah Charles Hodges, a 22 year old man, admitted to assaulting his father, causing serious bodily injury. The Victim, Lewis Wayne Hodges Sr., a 66 year old man, was taken to the Hershey Medical Center where, while being treated for injuries sustained from the assault, he died. The Victim died in the early morning hours of Aug. 23, 2020. The Arrestee was charged with one count of Criminal Homicide through District Court 52-3-03.

Cleona Borough

Harassment – On Aug. 3, 2020 at 2:22 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the 200 block of East Maple St. for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, troopers found the two involved parties became engaged in a verbal altercation which turned physical. The Victims/Arrestees were a 24 year old Jamaica, NY man and a 24 year old Cleona Boro. woman. Charges are pending.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On July 21, 2020 at 11:57 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Operator 1, a 34 year old Palmyra woman, was traveling west on Jonestown Rd. in the right lane, approaching its intersection with Reeds Creek Rd. For unknown reasons, Operator 1 veered her vehicle to the left, driving over the center double yellow lines that divide the lanes of travel, across the oncoming (eastbound) travel lane, and off the roadway along the south side of Jonestown Rd. Unit 1 drove through the grass and into a ditch, immediately followed by striking the embankment (of that ditch), causing front end vehicle damage. Unit 1 continued up the embankment and moved forward, sideswiping a Met-Ed utility pole located immediately west of the ditch/embankment, striking the pole with the vehicle’s right side rear quarter panel and right side rear window. Unit 1 continued moving forward into a corn field, where it struck planted corn immediately in its path. Unit 1 came to final rest in the field approximately 50 feet from the roadway, facing West. Operator 1 was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of this crash and was transported via Life Lion to the PSU Hershey Medical Center for suspected serious injuries. Operator 1 was also charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance (editor’s note: no charges filed at this time). This was the scene upon trooper’s arrival.

Heidelberg Township

Overdose – On Aug. 12, 2020 at approximately 1:10 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 1,100 block of Heidelberg Rd. for a possible drug overdose. Upon arrival on scene, the Victim, a 27 year old Jonestown man, was found in the passenger’s seat of the vehicle, a 2012 Nissan Altima, unresponsive. Narcan was administered on scene by medical personnel, stabilizing the Victim. The Victim was subsequently transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital for further treatment. No charges have been filed as a result of this incident.

Jackson Township

Theft – On Aug. 21, 2020 at 11:18 a.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the 100 block of Quarry Dr. for a report of a theft. Investigation revealed an unknown male Actor was allowed inside of the residence when they took a key ring and subsequently fled from the scene in an unknown direction by unknown means of travel. The Victim was an 84 year old Myerstown woman. The vehicle involved was a 2008 Nissan Sentra. PSP is investigating.

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 20, 2020 at 4:16 p.m., this crash occurred on Millardsville Rd. at its intersection with East Main Ave. Unit 1, a 2014 Hyundai Accent, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Narvon woman, was stopped at a stop sign on East Main Ave. at the intersection of Millardsville Rd. Unit 2, a 2006 Honda Civic, driven by Operator 2, a 26 year old Lebanon woman, was traveling south on Millardsville Rd. at its intersection of East Main Ave. Unit 1 entered the intersection and struck Unit 2 on the passenger’s side of the vehicle as it passed Unit 1.

Drug Possession – On Aug. 13, 2020 at 2:25 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the 400 block of North College St. for drugs that were found by Lebanon County Probation/Parole when visiting a subject. Drugs and related paraphernalia were discovered. PSP is investigating.

Theft – On Aug. 13, 2020 at 7:31 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the 500 block of Hilltop Rd. for a report of a theft of a firearm. Approximately six months ago, the Victim noticed his black, 9 mm Taurus handgun was taken from him. The Victim was a 22 year old Myerstown man. PSP is investigating.

Jonestown Borough

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 18, 2020 at 11:04 a.m., this two-vehicle reportable crash occurred when Unit 1, a 2003 Volkswagen Beetle (Super Beetle), driven by Operator 1, a 19 year old Manheim woman, was traveling north on South Lancaster St. Unit 2, a 2005 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 2, a 56 year old Newmanstown woman, was turning from North Lancaster St. eastbound onto East Market St. Unit 1 failed to obey the duties at the stop sign and continued into the intersection and was struck by Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Unit 1 sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported at the scene. Operator 1 was charged with Stops Signs and Yield Signs violations.

Lebanon City

Disorderly Conduct – A 23 year old woman and a 32 year old woman, both from Lebanon, have been cited for Disorderly Conduct after a mutual fight on Aug. 15, 2020 at 1:09 a.m. on the 00 block of North 7th St.

Parades And Public Events Permit Required – A 70 year old Harrisburg man has been cited for Parades and Public Events; Permit Required on Aug. 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. on the 400 block of South 8th St. He is accused of conducting an event without a permit; said event required a permit.

Disorderly Conduct With A Motor Vehicle – A 27 year old North Lebanon Twp. man has been cited for Disorderly Conduct with a Motor Vehicle on Aug. 17, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. on the 300 block of North 8th St.

Disorderly Conduct – A 13 year old male from Lebanon has been cited for Disorderly Conduct on Aug. 18, 2020 at 6:45 p.m. on 5th St. and Guilford St.

Storm Water Discharge – A 61 year old Lebanon man has been cited for Storm Water Discharge MS-4 violation on Aug. 8, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. on the 500 block of North Partridge St. He is accused of permitting construction sediment (stucco material) into the stormwater system.

Drug Possession – Charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia have been filed against Lance Puente, a 23 year old Lebanon resident, after contact with police on June 16, 2020 at 2:20 a.m. on the 1,200 block of Church St.

Drug Possession – A charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance has been filed against Gary Frazier, a 50 year old Lebanon resident, after police assisted Lebanon County Probation Officers on June 26, 2020 at 3:10 p.m. on the 00 block of South 8th St.

Public Drunkenness, Drug Possession – Charges of Public Drunkenness, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance have been filed against Alisha Rose, a 21 year old Lebanon resident, after contact with police on July 18, 2020 at 2:32 p.m. on the 1,100 block of Walton St. Rose was found to be in an intoxicated state on Walton St. after falling off her bike.

Drug Possession, Receiving Stolen Property, Burglary, Theft – Charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia have been filed against Christian Villegas-Rivera, a 35 year old with no permanent address, after contact with police on Aug. 7, 2020 at 9:47 a.m. on the 100 block of North 10th St. Villegas-Rivera was transported to a local medical facility for treatment after being found unresponsive at the above date, time, and location. In a separate incident, charges of Receiving Stolen Property have been filed against Christian Villegas-Rivera after investigation into a theft that occurred on July 21, 2020 and July 22, 2020 on the 00 block of North 9th St. He has also been charged with an additional Receiving Stolen Property charge as a result of an incident on Aug. 14, 2020 and Aug. 15, 2020 on the 1,000 block of Willow St. Charges of Burglary and Theft have been filed in reference to an incident on Aug. 10, 2020 at 10:46 a.m. on the 300 block of South 9th St. On Aug. 20, 2020, police located Villegas-Rivera on the 00 block of North 6th St. at about 9:24 p.m. while he was riding a bicycle. Villegas-Rivera threw an object then fled on the bicycle. He was apprehended a short time later on the same block. The item police allege he discarded contacted controlled substances. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to LCCB. He was arraigned before MDJ Kim Wolfe on the above-listed charges. Villegas-Rivera was incarcerated at LCCF in lieu of bail in the amount of $10,000 for the incident on Aug. 7, 2020, $5,000 for the incident on July 21, 2020, $5,000 for the incident on Aug. 14, 2020, $10,000 for the drug charges on Aug. 20, 2020, and $25,000 bail on the burglary charges from Aug. 10, 2020.

Drug Possession – Charges of Possession of a Small Amount of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia have been filed against Giovanni Fanelli, an 18 year old Lebanon resident, after police assisted Lebanon Couty Probation Officers on Aug. 14, 2020 at 11:38 a.m. on the 1,100 block of Walton St.

DUI, Careless Driving, Driving While Operating Privilege Is Suspended – Charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Careless Driving, and Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked have been filed against Jose Maldonado-Marquez, a 27 year old Lebanon resident, after police investigated a traffic accident on July 25, 2020 at 6:57 on North 5th St. and Canal St. Maldonado received minor injuries as a result of the accident. Police allege his BAC was .268% at the time of the accident.

Drug Possession – Charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia have been filed against Richard Hoofnagle, a 44 year old Grantville resident, after contact with police on June 21, 2020 at 6:42 a.m. on the 800 block of Willow St.

Myerstown Borough

Theft – On Aug. 21, 2020 at approximately 11:35 a.m., PSP Jonestown received a call from the manager of Fulton Bank requesting to speak to a trooper regarding an attempted transaction. Troopers responded to the Fulton Bank, located at 200 West Lincoln Ave., The Victim related she received a phone call from an unknown individual who she knew as “police defender,” Robert Glee, who was utilizing phone number 732-212-7479. Glee told the woman that she had to take out $6,000 cash in order to bail out her granddaughter and, if she didn’t, there would be unknown consequences. Tellers of the Fulton Bank asked the appropriate questions and flagged the transaction. The Victim was a 78 year old Myerstown woman. PSP is investigating.

Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – On Aug. 13, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., PSP Jonestown troopers responded to the 200 block of East Main Ave. The Victim, a 42 year old Myerstown man, observed two small holes located on the driver’s side of his vehicle, a 2018 Jeep Chrysler. The small holes appeared to have been caused by some type of bb gun. Between the evening of Aug. 10, 2020 and the morning of Aug. 11, 2020, unknown Actor(s) caused the damage to the vehicle. The unknown Actor(s) then fled in an unknown direction by an unknown means of travel. PSP is investigating.

Pine Grove Township

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 19, 2020 at 4:09 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2014 Honda CRV, driven by Operator 1, a 25 year old Winchester, VA woman, was traveling northbound on I 81 near mile marker 102. Unit 1 encountered a large piece of plastic in the left lane of travel. Unit 1 was unable to avoid the obstacle and hit the obstacle in the left lane of travel. Unit 1 drove to the nearest exit, but later determined that her vehicle was not drivable. There were no reported injuries.

Drug Possession – On Aug. 20, 2020 at 8:39 p.m., PSP responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a car and a guide rail on I 81 North at mile marker 104.1. Upon arrival on scene, troopers observed a silver 2000 Toyota Camry pulled off the right shoulder of the roadway parked against the guide rail with minor front bumper damage. PSP Jonestown troopers made contact with the driver who was a W/N-F, 20 year old Toms River, NJ resident, and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. The driver related that her vehicle ran out of gas. Upon questioning, the driver admitted to possessing marijuana inside the vehicle and related that she smoked a few hours prior. The driver submitted to SFST and ARIDE, which her performance was indicative of someone under the influence of a controlled substance. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted in which marijuana and drug paraphernalia were discovered inside the vehicle and seized for evidence. The driver was placed into custody for suspicion of DUI, transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital for a legal blood draw, and released per rule 519. PSP is investigating.

Swatara Township

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 19, 2020 at 3:44 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2008 BMW 328XI, was traveling north on North Lancaster St. near its intersection with Mowery Rd. Operator 1 was negotiating a left-hand turn in the roadway when, for an unknown reason, Unit 1’s front passenger’s side tire blew out, causing Unit 1 to exit the roadway where it struck a tree. Unit 1 sustained damage to the front-end. The front passenger’s side fender was dented and the front passenger’s side tire was flat. Operator 1 was wearing a seatbelt at the time of this crash and reported no injuries. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was issued an Application to Receive a Copy of the Crash Report (SP 7-20015TX) on scene.

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 13, 2020 at 8:50 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2012 Chevrolet CK 2500, driven by Operator 1, a 27 year old Hamburg man, was traveling west on I 78 West, approaching mile marker 4.1, in the right lane. As Unit 1 was traveling between mile marker 4.1 and mile marker 4.0 in I 78 West, there was a large metal pole (approximately 12-15 feet in length with a dark-colored nylon covering resembling something used for large tents) lying in the right lane in that area near the center dotted line. As a result of the object’s dark covering and location on the roadway, Unit 1 drove over the object with its left front tire, causing disabling damage to the tire. Operator 1 was able to drive his vehicle from the right lane and onto the right shoulder under the vehicle’s own power between mile marker 4.0 and mile marker 3.9, facing West. This was the scene upon trooper’s arrival.

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 22, 2020 at 12:48 p.m., this two-vehicle crash involving a car and tractor-trailer occurred on I 78 Westbound in the area of mile marker 2.5. This crash occurred when Unit 1, a 2010 Dodge Charger (INCL Shelby), driven by Operator 1, a 25 year old Bronx, NY man, was traveling at a high rate of speed, passing cars in both the right and left lanes. Unit 1 passed a vehicle that was in the left lane. Unit 1 then attempted to cut in between Unit 2, a 2008 Kenworth Northwest T660, driven by Operator 2, and another motor vehicle in the right lane. Unit 1 subsequently struck the rear end of Unit 2. Operator 1 subsequently lost control of Unit 1 and entered the right shoulder of the roadway, striking a ditch. Unit 1 came to final rest facing north in the right lane. Unit 1 sustained damage to its front end, three tires, and windshield. Unit 2 sustained no damage. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing Company. Fredericksburg Fire Company assisted with directing traffic on scene. Penn State Life Lion EMS responded and evaluated Operator 1. Operator 1 was transported via Life Lion for suspected minor injuries.

Union Township

Drug Possession – On Aug. 3, 2020 at 10:43 p.m., troopers responded to the 2,900 block of SR 72 to assist EMS with a medical incident. A consent search of the involved vehicle, a 2015 Jeep Chrysler, resulted in drugs and related paraphernalia being discovered in the possession of all three involved individuals. Charges are to be filed.

Harassment – On July 14, 2020 at approximately 4:22 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to Joe May’s Towing, located on the 3,000 block of SR 72, for a suspicious bag that was left on the front seat of a tow truck. Upon arrival, troopers discovered that a bag, containing miscellaneous women’s clothing and accessories, was left for a 13 year old, female juvenile who is the daughter of an employee at Joe May’s Towing. The Victim was a 13 year old Jonestown female. The found property was a black leather bag containing various women’s clothing valued at $50.00. Troopers from PSP Jonestown are investigating.

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 7, 2020 at 8:59 p.m., this single-vehicle hit-and-run crash occurred in the traffic way of Joe May’s Garage, located at 3031 SR 72 in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a blue Swift truck and white trailer, unknown registration, turned left from the southbound lane of SR 72 into the parking lot of Joe May’s Garage. The trailer of Unit 1 struck MetEd telephone pole #34442-40916, causing damage to the pole. Unit 1 then backed out of the parking lot and continued south on SR 72.
