A new Dunkin’ franchise is expected to open in Campbelltown by the end of the year.

Franchise operator BJ Patel confirmed plans for the new 101 N. Larkspur Drive location to LebTown in an interview Friday.

Update 1/14: According to Patel, inspections are done, staff is mostly hired, and an opening is planned for next week. Watch for an exact date in the coming days.

Patel operates five other Dunkin’ locations throughout Pennsylvania, including the one by Hershey Outlets/Red Robin and another just-opened location in Hummelstown, in the retail complex at the intersection of Route 322 and Route 39/Hersheypark Drive.

Patel said that plenty of jobs are available at the new location. Ten positions have been hired already, with 15-20 more expected, Patel said, noting that the business is labor-intensive because baked goods are made on-site through the day. First shift begins at 3 .m. to start the day’s production.

The Campbelltown location may open as early as the end of this month, but Patel said that it will “definitely” be open by the end of the year.

“We’ve wanted to do something in (this) area for a long time,” said Patel. “So far my experience with (South Londonderry Township) has been excellent. Very, very helpful staff at the township and the police have been great.”

“We are blessed to be in that area.”

Patel said he thought that the area could use a store that offered a good cup of coffee and baked goods for the community.

The building was most recently Just Wing It. Prior to that it had been home to Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. According to county real estate records, the property was bought this May for $442,000.

Existing freestanding Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Lebanon County include 1950 Quentin Road in North Cornwall Township and 2199 Cumberland Street in West Lebanon Township.
