Former Trump White House press secretary Sean Spicer will be the guest speaker at the Lebanon GOP Fall Dinner on Oct. 14 at Willow Springs Park in Richland.
Ed Lynch, the new chairman of the Lebanon County Republican Committee, credited Congressman Dan Meuser for arranging Spicer’s appearance.
Getting a speaker who worked at the highest levels of the White House is a treat, he said. “It’s an opportunity for us to get some insight.”
The fall dinner is typically held indoors, Lynch said, but an outdoor venue was chosen this year because of COVID-19 and the need to take precautions.
The dinner and program begin at 6:30 p.m., with a cocktail hour from 5-6. Tickets are $50 each.
H. Lee Moyer will provide entertainment, and the Lebanon County Council of Republican Women will sponsor a silent auction.
Lynch said they’re limiting ticket sales to 200 people. Courtesy of Rep. Meuser, guests will receive a free copy of Spicer’s new book, “Leading America.”
A lifelong GOP operative, Spicer has worked on campaigns and in administrations. According to the bio on his website, he headed up retention at the National Republican Campaign Committee, and was assistant U.S. trade representative for President George W. Bush, chief strategist and director of communications for the Republican National Committee and a top presidential campaign adviser to presidential campaigns before becoming President Donald Trump’s first White House press secretary.
After leaving the administration, Spicer served as a visiting fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics during the 2017-2018 academic year and penned a book “The Briefing.” In 2019, he was in the public eye again, this time as a contestant on Season 28 of “Dancing with the Stars.”
Spicer also hosts “Spicer & Co.” at 6 p.m. weekdays on the Newsmax cable channel.
Tickets to the fall dinner can be ordered by calling the Lebanon County GOP at 717-272-1758 or emailing lebanongop@comcast.net.
