Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 22, 2020 at 3:30 p.m., this one-vehicle crash occurred on Mt. Zion Rd., north of its intersection with Beagle Rd. in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 1, a 17 year old Lebanon male, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 17 year old Lebanon male, was traveling southbound on Mt. Zion Rd., north of its intersection with Beagle Rd. While traversing a righthand curve, Operator 1 left the right side of the roadway and hit a ditch. Operator 1 then overcorrected and crossed the roadway and struck a fence and embankment along the left side of the roadway. After striking the embankment, Unit 1 rolled over onto its roof. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic. PSP was assisted on scene by Mt. Zion Fire, Myerstown EMS, and Glenn’s Towing.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 24, 2020 at 12:20 p.m., the PSP Jonestown station investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred on East Main St., just west of its intersection with SR 22, in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, driven by Operator 1, was following Unit 2, a 2018 Ford F150XLT, driven by Operator 2, eastbound on East Main St. Unit 2 stopped in the travel lane to turn left into Sherwin Williams distribution center and was rear-ended by Unit 1. Unit 1 attempted to avoid collision and left the right side of the roadway, striking a Sherwin Williams employee entrance sign. Both Unit 1 and Unit 2 were removed from the scene under their own power by their respective Operators. No injuries were reported or observed. Form SP 7-0501TX was issued to both Operator 1 and Operator 2 on scene. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 24, 2020 at approximately 7:55 a.m., PSP are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Prescott Rd., just south of its intersection with Mt. Zion Rd. in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as both Unit 1, a 2016 Freightliner tri-axel dump truck, driven by Operator 1, a 71 year old Pine Grove man, and Unit 2, a horse-drawn buggy, driven by Operator 2, a 15 year old Lebanon female, were traveling south on Prescott Rd. Unit 2 was slightly off the travel lane (vicinity of fog line). Unit 1 approached from the rear and struck the rear end of Unit 2. Unit 2 was pushed off the right side of the roadway and came to final rest off the roadway. Unit 1 came to a position of final rest under its own power in the left lane in the area of this crash. Operator 1 suffered no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 was transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to the Hershey Medical Center by Myerstown EMS. A traffic citation was filed on Operator 1 for Following Too Closely. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Mt. Zion Community Fire Department and Myerstown EMS.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 25, 2020 at 2:18 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, driven by Operator 1, Erica Evans, a 21 year old Harrisburg woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, Jacques Roberson, an 18 year old Greenlawn, NY man, was traveling eastbound on I 78 in the right lane of travel at approximately 65 mph. Unit 1 then lost control when its frontal portion hit an impact attenuator on the righthand shoulder of the roadway. Unit 1 continued traveling southeast in a grassy area to the right of the roadway. Unit 1 rolled two times before hitting a grassy ditch and embankment. Unit 1 came to final rest facing south in the grassy ditch and embankment on the right side of the roadway. Neither Operator 1 nor Passenger 1 were on the scene. Neither Operator 1 nor Passenger 1 sustained any injuries. Unit 1 towed by Dale Richard’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property.

Cornwall Borough

Vehicle Accident – On Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 at 2:45 p.m. on Ironmaster Rd., a 79 year old Cornwall resident, was traveling east when she swerved to avoid a deer, traveled off of the roadway, and struck a tree. She was injured but declined treatment at the scene. Her vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 23, 2020 at 12:35 p.m., this crash occurred on I 81 North at mile marker 86.7 in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1, a 34 year old Middletown man, driving Unit 1, a 2000 Dodge Dakota, was traveling north on I 81 North when the driver’s side rear wheel tire for Unit 1 failed. Operator 1 was unable to maintain control of Unit 1 as Unit 1 traversed beyond the right shoulder of I 81 North and struck a tree. Unit 1 sustained heavy and disabling damage to its front and rear driver’s side doors at the 9 o’clock position and was towed from the scene by Geyer’s Towing. Operator 1 sustained no injuries as a result of this crash.

Jonestown Borough

Rape – On Nov. 16, 2020 at 3:12 p.m., PSP Jonestown received a report from Safe2Say relating an anonymous and unknown individual reported being assaulted by a female. PSP is investigating.

Harassment – On Nov. 24, 2020 at 11:00 p.m., this crime occurred on East Market St. In the commission of this crime, the Arrestee punched the Victim in the face. The Arrestee was a 16 year old Jonestown male. The Victim was a 45 year old Jonestown woman.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 24, 2020 at 5:43 p.m., this crash occurred at the intersection of North Lancaster St. and East Market St. in Jonestown Boro. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2002 Cadillac Kelly Esc, driven by Operator 1, was approached at a properly erected stop sign located on North Lancaster St. as Unit 2, a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Operator 2, was traversing eastbound on East Market St. Unit 1 did not stop at the stop sign and was subsequently struck by Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained a slight dent in the passenger’s side door. Unit 1 sustained a cracked front bumper and cracked front windshield. Both Operator 1 and Operator 2 reported no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 did not feel safe driving Unit 1 from the scene and contracted a personal tow. Unit 2 was driven from the scene. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Myerstown Borough

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 23, 2020 at 1:15 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2003 Subaru Baja, driven by Operator 1, was stopped at a stop sign on North Locust St., preparing to cross over/through the intersection with West Main Ave. to continue in a south direction. Unit 2, a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo, driven by Operator 2, was traveling east on West Main Ave., approaching the intersection with North Locust St. Unit 1 pulled out from the stop sign across the westbound lane of West Main Ave. and directly into the path of eastbound Unit 2, where impact occurred between the front end of Unit 1 and the driver’s side of Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained scratches to the front driver’s side bumper. Unit 2 sustained a dent to the rear driver’s side door. Both Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of this crash and reported no injuries. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Both Operators were issued a Non-reportable Drivers Exchange Report and an Application to Receive a Copy of the Crash Report (SP 7-20015TX) on scene.

North Londonderry Township

Theft, Forgery – On Oct. 27, 2020 at 8:00 p.m., Eddie Capers Jr., a 25 year old Harrisburg resident, was charged with Theft and Forgery after he stole and cashed a check in the amount of $2,551.00 from a business located at 1400 South Forge Rd. while he was working for a cleaning company.

Swatara Township

Death – On Nov. 24, 2020 at 7:57 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to East Chestnut St. for a reported death call involving an adult woman. The Victim was a 32 year old Jonestown woman. PSP is investigating.

Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 15, 2020 at 5:57 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Operator 1, a 39 year old Miami, FL man, was traveling north on I 81 near mile marker 94.2. Unit 1 was traveling in the righthand lane when Operator 1 observed a tree branch in the middle of the roadway. Operator 1 did not have time to apply his brakes and veered off the roadway to avoid a collision, causing Unit 1 to strike a guide rail. After impact, Unit 1 continued in a north direction before coming to its position of final rest on the right shoulder. Unit 1 sustained damage to the front end. The front passenger’s side fender and bumper were cracked. Operator 1 was wearing a seatbelt at the time of this crash and reported no injuries. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Blue Mountain Towing. PennDOT was notified of the damage to the guide rail. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Blue Mountain Towing.

Union Township

Drug Possession – On Nov. 21, 2020 at 3:37 a.m., this crime occurred on Jonestown Rd. and SR 72. In the commission of this crime, the Suspect was in possession of a controlled substance. The Arrestee was a 23 year old Lebanon man. The vehicles involved included a 2007 Jeep.

PFA Violation – On Nov. 24, 2020 at 5:48 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown station were dispatched to SR 72 for a report of a PFA violation. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined that the Defendant was indeed in violation of the PFA and was taken into custody and transported to Lebanon County Central Booking Center. The Arrestee was a 29 year old Lebanon man. The Victim was a 27 year old Jonestown woman.

Death – On Nov. 21, 2020 at 2:31 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Camp Meeting Rd. for a report of a deceased male. Through investigation, it was determined that the deceased male suffered from related underlying health issues. The death was deemed natural and no signs of suspicious activity were present. The Victim was an 87 year old Jonestown man.

Vehicle Accident, Fatalities – On Nov. 11, 2020 at approximately 3:11 p.m., this three-vehicle crash occurred as Unit 1, Unit 2, and Unit 3 were traveling southbound in the right lane of I 81 South. Unit 2 and Unit 3 were slowing for traffic conditions and Unit 2 was rear-ended by Unit 1. As a result of the collision, Unit 1 overrode Unit 2 to the cab portion of the vehicle. Unit 2 was then pushed by Unit 1 into Unit 3 where the front end of Unit 2 went underneath Unit 3’s trailer. After this collision, Unit 1 and Unit 2 caught on fire and all Occupants inside Unit 2 were entrapped. Unit 1 and Unit 2 came to final rest on the right lane of I 81 South, with both Units’ front ends facing south. Unit 3 came to final rest approximately 200 feet south on the southbound shoulder of I 81.

Update: As of Nov. 27, 2020, positive identification has been made for the Occupants of Unit 2. Operator 2 has been identified as Danny Carl, a 50 year old Tremont male. Passenger 2 has been identified as a 17 year old Tremont female. Passenger 3 has been identified as Danny Carl, an 18 year old Tremont male.

West Cornwall Township

Criminal Mischief, Drug Possession – Casey Wiseman, a 30 year old Ono resident, has been charged with Criminal Mischief and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for an incident on Sept. 21, 2020 at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the Speedway, located at 3190 Lebanon Rd. Wiseman smashed a sink in the men’s restroom, resulting in $354.42 in damage. In this same incident, Meaghan Kann, a 21 year old Camp Hill resident, is charged with Possession of Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
