Bethel Township
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 9, 2020 at 7:57 p.m., this single-vehicle reportable crash occurred on Mount Zion Rd. in Bethel Twp. Unit 1, a 2015 Nissan Sentra, driven by Operator 1, a 16 year old Denver female, was traveling south on Mount Zion Rd. when Operator 1 attempted to avoid hitting a cat in the roadway. Upon avoiding the cat, Unit 1 left the right side of the roadway and struck a concrete barrier belonging to the property owner on the 1,500 block of Mount Zion Rd. Unit 1 was overturned. Operator 1 was extricated and transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital by Life Lion EMS for suspected minor injuries. PSP was assisted on scene by Mount Zion Fire Department. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 11, 2020 at 5:08 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2015 Harley Davidson Road Glide, driven by Operator 1, Jason Shunk, a 44 year old Fredericksburg man, was traveling south on Camp Strause Rd., approximately 1/2 mile south of Monroe Valley Dr. in Bethel Twp. A dog appeared in the roadway, which Operator 1 was unable to avoid, and subsequently struck with Unit 1. Unit 1 came to final rest on the westbound shoulder of Camp Strause Rd. Operator 1 suffered suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported to a local hospital by his wife for evaluation. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Iron Valley Harley Davidson. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Lebanon County fire companies.
City of Lebanon
Dogs Running At Large – A 47 year old Lebanon woman has been cited for Dogs Running at Large on Oct. 28, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. on the 200 block of South 5th St.
Drug Possession – A 57 year old Camp Hill man has been cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on Dec. 8, 2020 at 8:45 a.m. on the 600 block of Quentin Rd.
Retail Theft – A 21 year old North Lebanon woman has been cited for Retail Theft on Dec. 7, 2020 at 4:45 p.m. on the 1,000 block of Maple St. Total loss to the merchant is $14.94.
Harassment – A 28 year old Lebanon man has been cited for Harassment after an incident on Dec. 4, 2020 at 9:39 p.m. on the 600 block of South 6th St.
Purchase, Consumption, Possession, Or Transportation Of Liquor – A 17 year old Lebanon female has been cited for the Purchase, Consumption, Possession, or Transportation of Liquor or Malt or Brewed Beverages on Dec. 10, 2020 at 9:00 p.m. at 5th St. and Cumberland St.
Disorderly Conduct – A 20 year old Lebanon man has been cited for Disorderly Conduct on Dec. 7, 2020 at 1:30 a.m. on the 800 block of Coleman Circle. During this same incident, a 17 year old North Cornwall female, a 16 year old female and a 15 year old female, both of Lebanon, were cited for a Curfew violation.
East Hanover Township
Drug Possession – On Dec. 6, 2020 at 11:26 a.m., PSP conducted a traffic stop on I 81 South at mile marker 85.4 in East Hanover Twp. on a dark blue BMW for a traffic violation. During further investigation, it was discovered that the Operator was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and THC oil. The Operator was released and will be charged with Drug Possession and a traffic violation. The Arrestee was a 20 year old Poinciana, FL man. The vehicles involved included a 2005 BMW 530I. PSP is investigating.
Swatara Township
Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – On Dec. 10, 2020 at 11:20 a.m., PSP responded to the 200 block of Lighthouse Dr. in Swatara Twp. for a report of a criminal mischief. On said date and time, the Complainant, a 32 year old Jonestown woman, related that an unknown Actor(s) took tomatoes from her garden and threw them onto her pool cover between the night of Dec. 9, 2020 and Dec. 10, 2020. There was no damage observed to the pool cover. The woman related she was in the process of installing cameras but did not have surveillance at said time. The woman received a Victim’s Rights Guide. A neighborhood canvass was conducted with negative results. The damaged property included tomatoes from garden valued at $20.00. There are no investigatory leads at this time.
Union Township
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 8, 2020 at 3:36 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup, driven by Operator 1, and Unit 2, a 2012 International Durastar, driven by Operator 2, were traveling southbound on I 81 near mile marker 88.4 in Union Twp. This location is where I 78 West merges with I 81 South. Unit 1 was traveling in the lefthand lane. Unit 2 was traveling in the righthand lane approaching the rear end of Unit 1. While merging into a single lane, Unit 1 struck the driver’s side of Unit 2. Unit 1 sustained scratches to the rear passenger’s side of its trailing unit. Unit 2 sustained minor damage to the driver’s side. The access door of a utility box was torn off of Unit 1. Both Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of this crash and reported no injuries. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were removed from the scene under their own power by their respective Operators. Both Operator 1 and Operator 2 were issued a Non-Reportable Drivers Exchange Report and an Application to Receive a Copy of the Crash Report (SP 7-20015TX) on scene.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 11, 2020 at 9:06 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2016 Freightliner, driven by Operator 1, a 59 year old Decatur, GA man, was traveling south on I 81. Unit 1 entered onto the I 81 Southbound exit ramp to I 78 Eastbound. While negotiating a left curve on the off ramp, Unit 1 overturned onto its right side. Unit 1 continued south and struck a bridge abutment. Operator 1 sustained no injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt. Operator 1 was cited for Accidents Involving Overturned Vehicles.
Vehicle Accident – On Dec. 11, 2020 at 4:14 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 1978 MG Midget, driven by Operator 1, a 57 year old Jonestown man, was traveling north on SR 72 in Union Twp. Unit 1 left its lane of travel, crossing the southbound lane of travel and striking a utility pole on the southbound shoulder of the roadway. Unit 1 sustained disabling front-end damage and was towed from the scene by Motter’s. Operator 1 sustained suspected major injuries and was transported from the scene by Life Lion EMS to an area hospital. PSP was assisted on scene by Lebanon County fire companies and troopers from PSP Jonestown. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
