Bethel Township

Vehicle Accident – On March 29, 2021 at 6:20 a.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on Union Rd. at its intersection with Freeport Rd. in Bethel Twp. The vehicles involved were Unit 1, a 2008 Toyota Scion, driven by Operator 1, a 24 year old Newmanstown man, and Unit 2, a 2002 Dodge Neon, driven by Operator 2, a 36 year old Lebanon man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 30 year old Lebanon woman. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Passenger 1 did sustain injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Life Lion to the Good Samaritan Hospital. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

City of Lebanon

DUI – On April 24, 2021 at 12:27 a.m., this incident occurred on Oak St. and South 10th St. In the commission of this crime, the Arrestee was in actual physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The vehicles involved included a 2013 Hyundai Sonata.

East Hanover Township

Vehicle Accident – On May 3, 2021 at approximately 6:34 a.m., PSP Jonestown investigated a two-vehicle crash which occurred at the intersection of SR 934 and Jonestown Rd. in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2018 Ram Ram 1500, driven by Operator 1, a 61 year old Annville woman, was following Unit 2, a 2015 Ford Fusion, driven by Operator 2, a 19 year old Halifax man, southbound on SR 934. Unit 1 slowed/stopped within the travel lane to turn left onto Jonestown Rd. Unit 1 struck Unit 2 in the rear. Life Lion EMS transported Operator 1 to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Operator 2 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. A traffic citation was filed on Operator 1 for Following Too Closely. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Fort Indiantown Gap Police, North Lebanon Fire, Life Lion EMS, and Porrini’s Towing.

DUI – On May 3, 2021 at 10:20 a.m., on the 800 block of I 81 North, a traffic stop was initiated for a left lane violation. The odor of burnt marijuana was detected during the traffic stop, and the Arrestee admitted to smoking marijuana approximately an hour prior to the traffic stop. The Arrestee participated in standardized field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. The Arrestee was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, where she submitted to a chemical test of her blood. Charges are pending blood test results. The Arrestee was a 26 year old Harrisburg woman. The vehicles involved included a 2020 Mazda CX9.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On April 29, 2021 at 4:14 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on South 5th Ave. at its intersection with Prescott Rd. in Heidelberg Twp. The vehicles involved were Unit 1, a 2011 Honda Odyssey, driven by Operator 1, a 44 year old Ephrata man, and Unit 2, a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Operator 2, a 27 year old Schaefferstown man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 25 year old Schaefferstown woman. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Passenger 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.

Jackson Township

DUI – On March 15, 2021 at 6:33 p.m., a PSP Jonestown trooper was dispatched to the 500 block of West Main Ave., near its intersection with Creamery Ln. in Jackson Twp., for a report of a single-vehicle crash, resulting in property damage. The Operator of the crashed vehicle displayed multiple signs of impairment and was given the opportunity to provide a blood sample. The Victims were Met-Ed in Reading, Jackson Twp. in Myerstown, and Comcast Corporation in Philadelphia. The vehicles involved included a Jeep. The investigating is ongoing.

Vehicle Accident – On May 2, 2021 at 3:43 p.m., this reportable crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Operator 2, a 30 year old Fredericksburg woman, was traveling north on Hilltop Rd. (SR 645) in Jackson Twp. Unit 1, a 1997 Toyota Corolla, driven by Operator 1, a 19 year old Newmanstown woman, was traveling directly behind Unit 2. Operator 2 slowed to a stop, due to a vehicle in front of her turning onto Benjamin Circle. Operator 1 could not stop in time when Unit 2 stopped, causing a rear-end collision. Initial impact occurred as the front bumper and hood of Unit 1 collided with the rear bumper of Unit 2. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Following Too Closely.

Death By Natural Causes – On May 3, 2021 at approximately 10:15 a.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 100 block of Gable Dr. in Jackson Twp. for a 71 year old white, non-Hispanic female that was found deceased inside of her residence. Through further investigation, troopers learned that the Victim was found by a family member and suffered from multiple health conditions. No signs of foul play were observed. The Victim was a 71 year old Myerstown woman.

Jonestown Borough

Vehicle Accident – On April 29, 2021 at 7:38 p.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on West Market St., just west of East Market St., in Jonestown Boro. The vehicles involved were Unit 1, a 2020 Tesla Motors Model S, driven by Operator 1, a 42 year old Hanover woman, accompanied by a Hanover female, and Unit 2, a 2015 Dodge Caravan, driven by Operator 2, a 67 year old Jonestown woman. Operator 1, Passenger 1, and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Myerstown Borough

Overdose – On April 30, 2021 at 6:23 a.m., this incident occurred on North College St. and North Railroad St. PSP Jonestown responded to the Lantern Lodge, located at 411 North College St. in Myerstown Boro., for a report of an unconscious male. Upon PSP Jonestown arrival, the male was conscious. Investigation revealed that the male had suffered an overdose, was administered Narcan, and denied further medical treatment. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

Harassment – On April 5, 2021 at 4:15 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to East Muth Ave. and South Railroad St. for a report of an altercation between two individuals. The Arrestees were a 38 year old Lebanon woman and a 16 year old Lebanon female juvenile. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

North Londonderry Township

Drug Possession – On April 13, 2021 at 10:01 a.m., North Londonderry Twp. police department filed charges against a juvenile male for his involvement in an incident that took place at the Palmyra High School, located at 1125 Park Dr. in Palmyra. The juvenile male was in possession of a vape pen that contained marijuana. The juvenile male was charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. The juvenile male was a 14 year old.

Retail Theft, Summary Traffic Violations – On March 28, 2021 at 9:42 p.m., North Londonderry Twp. police charged Robert Kauffman, a 35 year old Lebanon resident, with one count of Retail Theft (under ring) and two Summary Traffic Violations. It was reported that on March 28, 2021, Kauffman had removed a UPC from a toy, valued at $69.00, and selected a different toy, valued at $249.00. Kauffman then utilized a self-checkout and placed the UPC for the merchandise valued at $69.00 over the UPC of the merchandise valued at $249.00, scanning the lesser of the two, for a store loss of $180.00. This incident occurred at Wal-Mart.

Richland Borough

Vehicle Accident – On April 29, 2021 at 4:25 p.m., this hit-and-run crash occurred on North Park St., just east of its intersection with East Main St., in Richland Boro. This crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, owned by Operator 2, a 30 year old Richland woman, was properly parked along the right shoulder of the roadway. Unit 1, a 2020 Peterbilt 579, driven by Operator 1, a 53 year old Tipp City, OH man, approached this location west on North Park St. and subsequently struck Unit 2 with its trailing Unit. Unit 1 fled north on East Main St. Unit 2 sustained contact damage to the driver’s side rear door and gas tank area. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain injuries as a result of this crash. Application to obtain a crash report, driver exchange form, and Victim/Witness guide was mailed to the Victim. Operator 1 was cited for Accidents Involving Damage to Unattended Vehicle or Property.

Swatara Township

Residential Burglary – On April 30, 2021 at 2:04 a.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown station responded to SR 22 for a report of a burglary. Upon arrival on scene, it was determined that an unknown Actor forcefully gained entry into the residence and fled in an unknown direction. The Victim was a 62 year old Jonestown woman. Union Township

PFA Violation – On April 27, 2021 at 5:00 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to Jonestown Rd. for a report of a PFA violation. Through investigation, it was determined that the Arrestee violated the order. Charges were prepared and the Arrestee was taken to Lebanon County Booking. The Arrestee was a 37 year old Jonestown man. The Victim was a 36 year old Lebanon woman.
