Bethel Township

DUI Crash Combination Alcohol/Drug – On Sept. 16, 2021 at 3:47 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to West Main St. for a report of a vehicle crash. During the investigation, Operator 1 exhibited multiple signs of impairment. Operator 1 was subsequently taken into custody. PSP is investigating.

East Hanover Township

Harassment – On Sept. 7, 2021 at approximately 3:50 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 00 block of Homestead Rd. in East Hanover Twp. for a report of a neighbor dispute. Investigation revealed that two neighbors were involved in a verbal argument regarding property lines in which both parties threatened physical contact. Both parties were cited with Harassment within MDJ 52-3-04. The Victims/Arrestees were a 64 year old Grantville man and a 50 year old Grantville man.

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 30, 2021 at 3:48 p.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred on I 81 Southbound at mile marker 85.2 in East Hanover Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1 began reaching into the backseat of Unit 1, a 2019 Ram Ram 1500, to give her child a pacifier. Unit 1 subsequently left the left side of the highway and struck the guide rail prior to coming to final rest. Unit 1 sustained disabling front-end damage and scrapes up its driver’s side as a result of this crash. No injuries were observed or reported as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing Company. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Heidelberg Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 14, 2021 at 1:26 p.m., this single commercial vehicle rollover crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2019 Mack Trucks Dump, driven by Operator 1, a 53 year old Elizabethtown man, was traveling north on SR 897. Unit 1 left the paved roadway surface and went onto the dirt shoulder. As Operator 1 returned Unit 1 to the roadway from the shoulder, Unit 1 began to slide and rolled over onto its driver’s side. Unit 1 came to final rest, facing north, perpendicular to the roadway, blocking both northbound and southbound lanes. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained suspected minor injuries to his left arm as a result of this crash. Unit 1 sustained damage to its driver’s side. Unit 1 was carrying a load of gravel, which was strewn across the lefthand grassy shoulder and the roadway. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Cocker’s Towing. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Schaefferstown Fire, Schaefferstown EMS, PennDOT, and Graybill Equipment and Repair Inc. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Identity Theft – This incident occurred on Aug. 31, 2021 at 7:07 p.m. as the Victim received unemployment compensation claim information in the mail and hasn’t applied for such since October 2020, indicating that an unknown Actor(s) made a fraudulent unemployment compensation claim in his name, using his personal information (name, date of birth, SSN, etc.). According to the Victim, he received no financial loss due to this incident. The Victim was going to be in the process of filing an identity theft report through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industries as required. The Victim was further advised to obtain a copy of his credit report as well as a record of his bank accounts to determine if there were any discrepancies. On Aug. 31, 2021, all information regarding this incident was forwarded to Agent Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor via email. The Victim was a 68 year old Newmanstown man. The stolen property included Personal Identity Information, valued at $0.00.

Jackson Township

Identity Theft – This incident occurred on Sept. 9, 2021 at 10:41 a.m. as the Victim was notified via email that an unknown Actor(s) made a fraudulent unemployment compensation claim in her name, using her personal information (name, date of birth, SSN, etc.). According to the Victim, she received no financial loss due to this incident. The Victim was advised to file an identity theft report through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industries as required. The Victim was further advised to obtain a copy of her credit report as well as a record of her bank accounts to determine if there were any discrepancies. On Sept. 9, 2021, all information regarding this incident was forwarded to Agent Syreeta Scott of the U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor via email. The Victim was an 80 year old Myerstown woman. The stolen property included Personal Identity Information (PII), valued at $0.00.

Jonestown Borough

Burglary Residential Force – On Sept. 1, 2021 at 2:50 p.m., troopers responded to East Market St. for a reported attempted burglary. Upon investigation, troopers learned that witnesses observed three Hispanic males attempting to access the garage located behind an apartment building. Troopers are investigating. The Victim was a 46 year old Pine Grove woman. The vehicles involved included a 2001 Toyocar Van Container Trailer.

Myerstown Borough

Assault Bodily Injury No Weapon – On Oct. 6, 2021 at 3:16 p.m., State Police responded to West Main Ave. for a suspicious person. Upon arrival on scene, interviews were conducted, and it was discovered that a fight occurred between the Suspect and the Victim. The Victim then fled the scene of the fight to seek help. The Victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. Investigation is ongoing. The Victim was a 33 year old Richland man.

Harassment – On Oct. 6, 2021 at 4:51 p.m., State Police responded to South Railroad St. for harassment. Through investigation, it was determined that the Victim and the Arrestee became engaged in a verbal altercation. The altercation turned physical when the Arrestee slapped the Victim in the head and pushed the Victim into a wall. The Arrestee fled the scene prior to State Police arrival. An NTC for Summary Harassment has been filed on the Arrestee. The Arrestee was a 21 year old Myerstown man. The Victim was a 20 year old Myerstown woman.

North Londonderry Township

Disorderly Conduct – On Sept. 29, 2021 at 2:37 a.m., this incident occurred on the 1100 block of Park Dr. North Londonderry Twp. Police Department has cited 19 year old Harrisburg resident, with Disorderly Conduct following a traffic stop where he was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Richland Borough

Identity Theft – On Oct. 7, 2021 at 4:44 p.m., this incident occurred on Georgie Ln. In the commission of this crime, an unknown Actor opened a PA Unemployment Compensation Claim in the Victim’s name from an unknown location. The Victim was informed by his employer. The Victim related that he has suffered no monetary/financial loss and completed a fraud application with PA Unemployment Compensation. The Victim was a 62 year old Richland Boro. man.

Disorderly Conduct – On Sept. 17, 2021 at 2:45 p.m., troopers responded to Church St. Upon arrival on scene, the Complainant related that a neighbor witnessed an unidentified man urinating in the parking lot across from his residence. When the neighbor confronted the unidentified man, he fled in an unknown direction in a silver Volvo SUV bearing PA registration LCN-0750. The neighbor was unable to describe the unknown Actor who urinated in the parking lot. Anyone with any information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2021-1271389. The vehicles involved included a 2010 Volvo.

Swatara Township

Identity Theft – On Sept. 17, 2021 at approximately 5:00 p.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown responded to an identity theft reported by the Victim who resides on the 200 block of Greble Rd. in Swatara Twp. Through further investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified person opened an unemployment account in the Victim’s name. No monetary value was reported lost/stolen from the Victim. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Department of Labor was notified of this particular incident. If anyone has any information pertaining to this investigation, please contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194 and reference incident number PA2021-1271553. The Victim was a 61 year old Jonestown man. The stolen property included Unemployment Benefits, valued at $0.00.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 10, 2021 at 8:36 a.m., this hit-and-run crash occurred in front of the property on the 200 block of Irene Dr. in Swatara Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 2, a 2008 Toyota Seqouia, driven by Operator 2, was parked off of the right shoulder, facing west on Irene Dr. in front of the above-listed location. Unit 2 was struck by Unit 1, an unknown make and model, driven by Operator 1, by an unknown means between the hours of 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2021 and 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 10, 2021. Unit 1 fled from the scene and was unable to be located. It is unknown whether Operator 1 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown whether and to what extent Operator 1 was injured as a result of this crash. Citations for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic for Operator 1 are pending investigation.

Theft From Building – On Sept. 8, 2021 at approximately 8:16 p.m., PSP Jonestown responded to the 2,000 block of SR 72 North in Swatara Twp. after the Victim contacted PSP Jonestown after he noticed several tools were stolen from the residence that he is remodeling. PSP Jonestown is investigating.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 8, 2021 at 5:52 p.m., this three-vehicle crash occurred on SR 72 at its intersection with New Bunkerhill Rd. in Swatara Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2005 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 1, a 78 year old Annville woman, was traveling eastbound across SR 72 from Thompson Ave. to continue onto New Bunkerhill Rd. without properly clearing the roadway when Unit 2, a 2004 Dodge Stratus, driven by Operator 2, a 54 year old Lebanon woman, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 58 year old Jonestown man, was traveling northbound on SR 72, and it struck Unit 1 as it was crossing the intersection. Operator 2 subsequently lost control of Unit 2, which subsequently struck the front end of Unit 3, a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Operator 3, a 40 year old Jonestown man, accompanied by Passenger 2, a 44 year old Jonestown woman, which was stopped at the stop sign located at the above-listed intersection. Operator 1 subsequently lost control of Unit 1, which subsequently struck the stop sign at the above-listed intersection. Unit 1 and Unit 2 were towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing Company due to sustaining disabling front end damage. Unit 3 was driven away from the scene. Operator 1, Operator 3, and Passenger 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 were not wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1, Operator 2, Passenger 1, and Operator 3 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Passenger 2 was transported via Life Lion EMS to the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of neck pain sustained as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs. Operator 2 was cited for Restraint Systems.

Burglary Residential No Force – On Sept. 29, 2021 at 10:23 p.m., troopers of PSP Jonestown responded to the area of Grace Ave. in Swatara Twp. for a reported burglary in progress. Prior to troopers’ arrival, the Actor fled the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Jonestown at 717-865-2194. The Victim was a 69 year old Lebanon man.

Union Township

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 28, 2021 at 10:20 p.m., this crash occurred on SR 22 at the intersection of SR 72 in Union Twp. Unit 1, a 2020 Chevrolet Spark, driven by Operator 1, Gabriel Velez, a 27 year old Lebanon man, was traveling west on SR 22. Unit 1 struck a concrete divider on the left side of the roadway and became disabled, blocking the left lane. Operator 1 was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.

Harassment – On Oct. 4, 2021 at approximately 6:32 a.m., troopers from PSP Jonestown were dispatched to the 100 block of Fisher Ave. in Union Twp. for a domestic-related incident. Through further investigation, troopers learned that, while both parties were involved in an altercation, the man grabbed the woman by both breasts, and forcefully lifted her up from the ground. The man was subsequently charged with Harassment. All charges were filed within MDJ 52-3-04. The Arrestee was a 38 year old Jonestown man. The Victim was a 45 year old Jonestown woman.

Identity Theft – On Aug. 8, 2021 at 8:00 a.m., troopers were dispatched to Mayflower Ln. for a report of unemployment fraud. Upon investigation, troopers learned that an unidentified Actor(s) fraudulently added direct deposit information to the Victim’s existing unemployment account, causing monetary benefits to be rerouted to an unknown location. Troopers are investigating. The Victim was a 62 year old Jonestown woman. The stolen property included the Victim’s Account Hacked And Direct Deposit Information Added, valued at $600.00.

Theft By Deception Extortion – Troopers responded to Shepherd St. for a reported theft. Upon investigation, troopers learned that the Victim was extorted out of approximately $20,000 between Jan. 8, 2021 at approximately 8:00 a.m. and Aug. 20, 2021 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Troopers are investigating. The Victim was a 31 year old Jonestown woman. The stolen property included Payments Through Cash App and Paypal for approximately $20,000, valued at $20,000.

Theft Of Vehicle Parts – On Sept. 15, 2021 sometime between 3:15 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., troopers responded to SR 72 and Moonshine Rd. for a reported theft of a catalytic converter. Upon investigation, troopers learned that a catalytic converter had been removed from underneath a parked vehicle. If anyone has any information concerning similar incidents, they are encouraged to call the PSP Jonestown Barracks at 717-865-2194. The Victim was a 41 year old Tower City man. The stolen property included a Catalytic Converter, valued at $0.00. The vandalized vehicles included a 2014 Toyocar Van Container Trailer.

Vehicle Accident – On Sept. 26, 2021 at 11:47 a.m., this single-vehicle crash occurred on Old Forge Rd. in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2012 Ford Focus, driven by Operator 1, an 18 year old Jonestown man, was traveling south approximately .5 miles from its intersection with Penny Ln. This crash occurred as Operator 1 was attempting to negotiate a lefthand curve at an unsafe speed when Operator 1 left the right side of the roadway. Operator 1 began losing further control of Unit 1, which then struck a tree off of the shoulder on the westbound side of Old Forge Rd. Unit 1 sustained disabling rear passenger’s side damage to its rear fender and tire from striking the tree. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Dougs Towing Company. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.

Vehicle Accident – On Aug. 27, 2021 at 6:14 p.m., this single-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer occurred on I 81 Southbound at mile marker 90.1 in Union Twp. This crash occurred as Operator 1, a 34 year old Annville man, lost control of Unit 1, a 2017 Kenworth Northwest T680. Unit 1 subsequently left the right shoulder of the highway, struck the embankment, and jackknifed. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by HJ Towing Company. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
