On Oct. 7, a ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony was held for HDC MidAtlantic’s newest affordable housing community, Beach Run Apartments, in Fredericksburg.
“This housing community has been a long time coming and it has taken a lot of hard
work, dedication, and collaboration between partners to get to this point,” said Dana Hanchin, HDC MidAtlantic president and CEO, during the event. “We are grateful to all of the residents who have chosen Beach Run, and we are committed to supporting you in whatever ways you need as you are at the heart of our mission.”

Beach Run Apartments consists of 51 energy-efficient units, which will help fill the Fredericksburg workforce housing need, according to a recent press release from HDC MidAtlantic. The development is a $14,675,030 investment.
Six apartments meet American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, five are designated for military veterans, and all of the apartments were leased before the ceremony.

Beach Run Apartments construction began in July 2020 and finished last month. Arthur Funk & Sons Inc., Steckbeck Engineering & Surveying Inc., and Architectural Concepts were all local development partners.
The apartments will have resident services staff available, to help residents connect to various resources. They will work with partners like Lebanon Family Health Services, Central PA Food Bank, and First Community Citizens Bank.
There is onsite maintenance, a walking trail, and in the future, there will be a community room, a playground, and off-street parking, according to the press release.
