Bethel Township
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 6, 2021 at 8:42 a.m., this two-vehicle crash occurred on SR 22 at its intersection with Blue Mountain Rd. in Bethel Twp. This crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Operator 1, a 50 year old Fredericksburg man, was traveling west on SR 22, east of its intersection with Blue Mountain Rd. Unit 2, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 2, a 17 year old Fredericksburg juvenile male, was on Blue Mountain Rd. at its intersection with SR 22, facing south, stopped at the red light. Unit 2 began traveling south through the intersection after a green signal. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 and Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked.
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 11, 2021 at 11:26 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2003 Toyota Corolla, driven by Operator 1, was traveling southbound on Mount Zion Rd. in Bethel Twp. at its intersection with Greble Rd. While traveling on Mount Zion Rd., Unit 1 failed to negotiate a slight lefthand curve in the roadway. After failing to negotiate a slight lefthand curve in the roadway, Unit 1 traveled off of the left side of the roadway, after crossing the oncoming northbound lane, and drove through a wire fence, which was located along the roadway. Unit 1 then came to final rest along the roadway in a small grass pasture. Unit 1 was driven from the scene with minor damage. Operator 1 reported that she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. The property owner was contacted in regard to the damage to his fencing.
Vehicle Accident – On Oct. 29, 2021 at 3:10 p.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Operator 1, a 16 year old Jonestown juvenile male, was making a lefthand turn onto Village Dr. to continue in a north direction. Unit 2, a 2014 Ford F150XLT, was unoccupied and parked in the driveway of the residence located on the 00 block of Village Dr. As Unit 1 was making a lefthand turn onto Village Dr., Operator 1 lost control of Unit 1, which subsequently exited the roadway and entered the driveway of the residence located at the above-listed address, hitting Unit 2. After impact, Unit 1 reversed out of the driveway and fled the scene in a north direction on Village Dr. An area canvass was conducted with negative results. Unit 1 and Operator 1 were later identified as this crash was captured through security camera. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
Heidelberg Township
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 9, 2021 at 2:47 a.m., this reportable crash occurred on SR 897, just east of Rossi Ln. in Heidelberg Twp. Unit 1, a white 2001 Honda Civic, driven by Operator 1, a 53 year old Myerstown man, was traveling east in the right lane of SR 897. Initial impact occurred as Unit 1’s front bumper struck a deer. After impact, Unit 1 came to final rest on the right shoulder of the roadway. Unit 1 was towed from the scene by Valley View Towing. Operator 1 was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.
Jackson Township
Death Natural – On Nov. 7, 2021 at 7:39 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Kreider Rd. for a report of a natural death. Troopers arrived on scene and confirmed that the Victim died of natural causes. The Victim was a 91 year old Myerstown man.
Driving On DUI-Suspended License – On Nov. 13, 2021 at 7:08 a.m., a traffic stop was conducted on a 2004 Chevrolet Venture minivan at East Cumberland St. and West Lincoln Ave. for a vehicle code violation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the Operator was DUI-suspended, and this was his third offense. Appropriate charges will be filed with MDJ Verna. The Arrestee was Dexter Tabb, a 51 year old Myerstown man.
Myerstown Borough
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 10, 2021 at 9:30 a.m., this crash occurred as Unit 1, a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Operator 1, a 63 year old Annville woman, was traveling eastbound on West Richland Ave., approaching its intersection with South Railroad St. Unit 2, a 2006 Ford F450, driven by Operator 2, Devin Spatz, a 33 year old Newmanstown man, was stopped at a stop sign on South Railroad St., preparing to cross over/through the intersection with West Richland Ave. to continue in a north direction. Operator 1 was suffering from a medical episode and continued through the stop sign without stopping, directly into the path of Unit 2, which was continuing northbound. Initial impact occurred between the passenger side of Unit 1 and the front end of Unit 2. After impact, Unit 1 continued in an east direction, where it exited the roadway and entered the south sidewalk, hitting a set of concrete steps and metal railing of the residence located on the 700 block of South Railroad St., causing damage. Upon secondary impact, Unit 1 reentered the roadway, where it came to its position of final rest in the eastbound lane on West Richland Ave. Operator 1 and Operator 2 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained injuries of unknown severity as a result of this crash, was evaluated by medical personnel, and was transported via Myerstown First Aid Unit to the Hershey Medical Center. Operator 2 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. No airbags were deployed as a result of this crash. Unit 1 was driven from the scene by family members of Operator 1. Unit 2 was driven from the scene by Operator 2. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Myerstown Ambulance, Keystone Hook & Ladder Co., and Lebanon County Fire Police. Operator 1 was cited for Stop Signs and Yield Signs.
North Londonderry Township
DUI – North Londonderry Twp. Police have charged Paul Lamborn, a 50 year old Palmyra resident, with DUI – Incapable of Safe Driving, DUI – High Rate of Alcohol, and Driving on Right Side of Roadway. Lamborn’s BAC was .15%. This incident occurred on Gravel Hill Rd. and Eisenhower Rd. on Oct. 15, 2021 at 3:02 a.m.
Swatara Township
Theft By Deception – On Oct. 28, 2021 at 11:10 a.m., this incident occurred on Monroe Valley Dr. In the commission of this crime, an unknown individual contacted the Victim relating that they wished to purchase $291.20 in merchandise from her online store. The unknown individual subsequently sent the Victim a check for $2,150.00. The unknown individual related to the Victim that they wrote the check for the incorrect amount and requested that the Victim Venmo them $1,858.00. The Victim Venmo-ed the unknown individual $1,858.00. The Victim then attempted to deposit the $2,150.00 check but learned through her bank that the check was fraudulent. Investigation is ongoing. The stolen property included a Fraudulent Monetary Transaction, valued at $2,150.00.
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 12, 2021 at 10:48 a.m., this crash occurred on SR 72 approximately 100 yards north of its intersection with Old Jonestown Rd. in Swatara Twp. Unit 1, a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Operator 1, a 51 year old Mount Holly Springs man, was traveling south on SR 72. Unit 2, a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia, driven by Operator 2, a 56 year old Dover, TN man, was traveling north on SR 72. Unit 3, a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Operator 3, a 47 year old Lebanon woman, was traveling north on SR 72 behind Unit 2. Unit 1 left its lane of travel for unknown reasons, crossing into the oncoming lane of travel, and striking Unit 2. This collision caused a tire to fall off of Unit 2. Unit 3 was then struck by this tire in the northbound lane of travel. Unit 1 continued south after this collision, pulling onto a nearby road. Unit 2 and Unit 3 continued north after this collision, pulling to the shoulder of the roadway. Unit 1 sustained disabling damage as a result of this crash and was towed from the scene by Joe May’s Towing. Unit 2 sustained functional damage as a result of this crash and was moved to a nearby parking lot to await repair. Unit 3 sustained minor damage as a result of this crash and was driven from the scene by Operator 3. Operator 1, Operator 2, and Operator 3 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 1 sustained possible injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Life Lion EMS to an area hospital for evaluation. Operator 2 and Operator 3 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash. PSP Jonestown was assisted on scene by Life Lion EMS, Lebanon County fire companies, and Joe May’s Towing. Operator 1 was cited for Driving on Roadways Laned for Traffic.
Union Township
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 12, 2021 at 9:27 a.m., this crash occurred on I 81 Southbound as Unit 2, a 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan, driven by Operator 2, a 66 year old Fredericksburg man, accompanied by Passenger 1, a 65 year old Fredericksburg woman, was struck and pushed off of the roadway by Unit 1, a Cadillac Escalade, driven by Operator 1, which was carelessly exchanging lanes. After leaving the roadway, Unit 2 struck a guide rail, causing disabling damage to its driver’s side and front end. After striking the guide rail, Unit 2 re-entered the roadway, where it then continued across both travel lanes and struck a concrete barrier on the right side of the roadway. Unit 1 continued driving in the southbound direction and fled the scene. It is unknown if and to what extent Unit 1 sustained any damage as a result of this crash. It is unknown whether Operator 1 was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown if and to what extent Operator 1 sustained any injuries as a result of this crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. Operator 2 and Passenger 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.
Vehicle Accident – On Nov. 13, 2021 at 2:38 a.m., this collision occurred as Unit 1, a 2021 Jeep Cherokee, driven by Operator 1, a 26 year old Johnson City, TN woman, was traveling west on I 78 in the left lane, when a deer ran out in front of Unit 1. Unit 1’s front end struck the deer. Unit 1 came to final rest on the berm of the I 81 Northbound on-ramp, facing north. Operator 1 was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Operator 1 did not sustain any injuries as a result of this crash.
