In the works for the past eight months, Lebanon Transit opened up service on its newest line, Route 88, on Monday, Nov. 22. The route services the massive new DHL/Hershey warehouse in Annville.

“Like a lot of companies in the area, DHL/Hershey knew that staffing in the current market would be hard and really wanted to incentivize job hunters with access to affordable and reliable public transit,” said Lebanon Transit spokesperson Melissa Mann in an email. “We have worked closely with DHL/Hershey personnel to create a route that would accommodate their employees, especially those commuting from Lebanon City.”
At present, service is offered at two times: a morning commute that departs the Lebanon Transit garage at 6:05 a.m. and arrives at the warehouse at 6:45 a.m. (with a return at 7:15 a.m. back to Lebanon) and then an afternoon commute that leaves the garage at 2:20 p.m. and arrives at the warehouse at 2:45 p.m., before departing at 3:15 p.m. back to Lebanon.
“Lebanon Transit is always interested in partnering with companies who are finding transportation a hurdle for current and potential employees and invite other Lebanon County businesses to reach out to see how Lebanon Transit can help,” said Mann.
