Bethel Township
Vehicle Accident – At 4:47 a.m. March 10, a single-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 343 at Golf Road. The crash occurred as a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by a 28-year-old Lebanon man was traveling north on SR 343. As the Toyota approached the intersection, the driver lost control and the Toyota slid into a guide rail on the right side of the road. The Toyota struck the rail with the front passenger’s side of the bumper and side fender, then slid north and struck an embankment with its front bumper and driver’s side fender and came to a stop. The Toyota sustained damage to its driver’s side and passenger’s side fenders as well as its front bumper and hood. The man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported by Life Lion EMS to Hershey Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The Toyota was towed from the scene by Blatt & Tillet Towing.
City of Lebanon
Criminal Mischief – John Laudermilch, 34, of Annville, was cited for criminal mischief after he was accused of purposefully damaging property of another, causing a loss to the victim of $491 at 9:52 p.m. Feb. 15 on the 200 block of South 4th Street.
Defiant Trespass – Eugene Messner, 37, no permanent address, was charged with defiant trespass at 12:43 p.m. March 20 on the 700 block of East Lehman Street. Messner had been asked and told to leave a business but he refused to leave and fell asleep on the premises. He was apprehended and transported to LCCB, arraigned before District Judge Kim Wolfe, and incarcerated at LCCF in lieu of $1,000 bail.
Disorderly Conduct with a Motor Vehicle – A 21-year-old Hershey man was cited for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle at 4:35 p.m. March 23 on the 500 block of Lehman Street.
Protection from Abuse Order Violation – Toby Rutter, 43, of North Lebanon, was charged with a protection from abuse order violation after allegedly verbally threatening a 25-year-old victim at 6:33 p.m. March 22 on the 500 block of Weidman Street. Rutter turned himself in to Lebanon City police and was walked to LCCB, arraigned before MDJ Maria Dissinger, and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest – Shariem Houston, 36, of Lebanon, was charged with simple assault (domestic violence-related) and resisting arrest after an incident at 12:32 p.m. March 17 on the 400 block of East Weidman Street. He is accused of punching a woman, 28, on her head and face, causing injury to her right eye. The victim sought medical attention for her injuries. Houston fled the scene but was located and resisted arrest when being taken into custody. He was transported to LCCB, arraigned before MDJ Kim Wolfe, and incarcerated at LCCF in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Driving while Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked – Charges of driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked (DUI-related) and operation of a vehicle without an official certificate of inspection have been filed against Jeremy Rivera, 34, of Reading, following a traffic stop at 12:04 a.m. March 20 on the 00 block of North 9th Street.
Driving while Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked, Maximum Speed Limits – Charges of driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked (DUI-related),
maximum speed limits, required financial responsibility, and registration and
certificate of title required have been filed against Damon Day, 31, of North
Cornwall, after a traffic stop at 10:41 p.m. March 21 on the 1400 block of
Cumberland Street.
Altered, Forged, or Counterfeit Documents and Plates – Charges of altered, forged, or counterfeit documents and plates, operation of a vehicle without an official certificate of inspection, evidence of emission inspection, required financial responsibility, and vehicles prohibited from using signals have been filed against Eric Gwynn, 47, of North Cornwall, after a traffic stop at 9:30 p.m. March 17 on the 1100 block of Cumberland Street.
Drug Possession, Driving while Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked – Charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked have been filed against Ezequiel Cintron, 18, of Reading, after a traffic stop at 12:33 a.m. March 20 on the 900 block of Chestnut Street.
Theft – Yasset Soto Morales, 25, no permanent address, has been charged with theft for an incident at 11 a.m. Feb. 19 on the 500 block of Walnut Street. He was also charged with theft for an incident at 1 p.m. Feb. 21 on the 600 block of Quentin Road. Morales is accused of taking the tip jar from the counter of the business on the 500 block of Walnut Street. The estimated loss to the merchant is $100. He is also accused of taking an adoption donation jar from the counter of the business on the 600 block of Quentin Road with an undetermined amount of money in the jar. Warrants have been issued for his arrest.
East Hanover Township
PFA Violation – At 2:06 p.m. March 22, police responded to McGillstown Road for a report of a PFA violation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the arrestee, Russell Barna, 61, of Grantville, was in violation of his PFA and was subsequently arrested. The victim was a woman, 51, of Annville.
Heidelberg Township
Vehicle Accident – At 4:12 p.m. March 21, a crash occurred as a 2010 Honda CRV driven by an 81-year-old Lebanon man was traveling east on East Main Street (SR 897) near Prospect Hill Drive and attempted to pass a vehicle that was turning left onto Prospect Hill Drive. The Honda went off of the road and struck a speed limit sign. Initial impact occurred as the Honda’s driver’s side front bumper struck the speed limit sign, then continued forward and struck a utility pole. The Honda traveled back onto the roadway and came to a rest facing northeast in the west lane of East Main Street. The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He sustained suspected minor injuries as a result of this crash and was transported via Schaefferstown EMS to the Good Samaritan Hospital. The man was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
Jackson Township
Vehicle Accident – At 7:39 p.m. March 13, a crash occurred as a 2012 Volkswagen Passat driven by a 38-year-old Myerstown woman, and a vehicle of an unknown type occupied by a family consisting of a 40-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, a 4-year-old girl, a 10-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, an infant boy, two 7-year-old boys, a 9-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old boy, all of Myerstown, were traveling north in the 800 block of South College Street. The Passat was traveling behind the family and failed to maintain proper speed while following too closely, the report said, and it struck the family’s vehicle’ from behind. The Passat then drove through/under the family’s vehicle before fleeing the area, traveling north, and becoming disabled on West Richland Avenue at North College Street. The Passat required towing. No one was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, although the driver was wearing a motorcycle helmet. The woman driving the Passat sustained no injuries. The family was transported by Myerstown First Aid to Hershey Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries, some of which were suspected to be serious. The woman was cited for following too closely.
Death Investigation – At 9:08 a.m. March 20, police responded to Lakeview Drive for a report of a deceased man, 92, of Myerstown. This investigation is ongoing.
North Cornwall Township
Drug Possession – At 7:53 p.m. March 18, Jonathan Candelario, 26, of Lebanon, was stopped in the 2200 block of West Cumberland Street for following another vehicle too closely. Candelario was charged with the use/possession of drug paraphernalia.ย
Vehicle Accident – At 4:50 p.m. March 19, a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old Lebanon man was traveling west on Chestnut Street when it veered left across the east lane and struck an unoccupied vehicle parked on the east shoulder, glanced off the first parked vehicle and struck another unoccupied vehicle. No injuries were reported, according to police.
Hit-and-Run Crash – At 8:05 p.m. March 20, a crash occurred onย Quentin Road at York Street.ย A 61-year-old Lykens woman was in the north left turn lane of Quentin Road at York Street yielding to oncoming traffic, before turning left. An unknown vehicle, traveling south, struck the front driver’s side area of her vehicle, causing minor damage. The unknown vehicle continued south. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information concerning this crash is asked to call the police at 717-274-0464.ย
DUI, Driving while Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked – Destin Amir Picart, 19, of Lebanon, was stopped for a faulty vehicle registration light at 12:02 a.m. March 20 and charged with DUI – controlled substance, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, and general lighting requirements.ย
Disorderly Conduct – A 22-year-old Lebanon man was cited for disorderly conduct after police responded to a traffic accident involving his vehicle and a vehicle driven by his wife at 6:04 p.m. March 16 on SR 422 at the Turkey Hill parking lot.ย The man allegedly became enraged, slammed his fists against his truck, yelled profanities, yelled at his wife, and failed to heed the commands of police officers.ย
Vehicle Accident – At 3:28 p.m. March 21, a crash occurred in the Giant parking lot when vehicles driven by a 54-year-old Lebanon woman and a 66-year-old Palmyra woman bumped into each other as they were backing out of parking spaces. The vehicles sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported, according to police.
North Londonderry Township
Control of Alarm Devices – At 2:31 p.m. March 19, police cited Lowe’s Home Improvement, at 70 North Londonderry Square, Palmyra, for control of alarm devices after receiving a complaint from the fire department, after they received the eighth false alarm in a consecutive 12-month period. Pennsylvania law only permits the occurrence of three false alarms within a consecutive 12-month period.
Vehicle Accident – At 6:02 a.m. March 17, police responded to the 200 block of Gravel Hill Road for a single-vehicle crash. A vehicle driven by a 33-year-old Annville man traveled off the road and over an embankment. The man was transported to Hershey Medical Center for his injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft – At 3:30 p.m. March 24, a 40-year-old Annville man reported the theft of a mechanic’s vehicle scanning tool worth approximately $9,000 from his garage on the 00 block of Palmyra Bellegrove Road.
Palmyra Borough
Public Drunkenness – On Feb. 23, police were alerted of a man that was “passed out drunk” by a concerned passerby on the first block of West South Avenue, where a 44-year-old Palmyra man was found facedown in a grassy area. The man was visibly intoxicated and had a small cut on the bridge of his nose. EMS was dispatched to evaluate him. A summary citation for public drunkenness was filed through MDJ Garver’s office.
Megan’s Law Failure to Comply – At 11:12 a.m. March 16, police completed a Megan’s Law compliance check. As of March 21, the suspect was determined to be out of compliance with Megan’s Law registration requirements. This investigation remains open.
South Londonderry Township
Vehicle Accident – At 10:17 a.m. March 12, police were dispatched to the 2000 block of South Forge Road for a single-vehicle crash on a snow-covered road. Upon arrival, police discovered that a vehicle driven by a 43-year-old Elizabethtown woman had left the road and struck a utility pole. No injuries were reported and MetEd was notified of the damage to the pole.
Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats – At 6:27 a.m. March 3, police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Mount Wilson Road to perform a welfare check on a 32-year-old Lebanon woman. She was not at the residence upon police arrival, the report said, although police later made contact with her and her boyfriend, Douglas Greenly, 31, of Lebanon. Police determined that a domestic dispute had occurred at the residence on the previous evening. Greenly was subsequently taken into custody and charged with simple assault (domestic violence-related) and terroristic threats.
Vehicle Accident – At 7:46 p.m. March 5, police were dispatched to the intersection of Horseshoe Pike and Schoolhouse Road for a crash involving a Campbelltown Volunteer Fire Company engine. The fire engine was struck by a vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Middletown man while responding to an emergency call-for-service. No injuries were reported.
Swatara Township
DUI – A 21-year-old Campbelltown resident was arrested at 3:43 a.m. Feb. 26 on Monroe Valley Drive at Ironwood Lane after police found the subject operating a 2004 Honda Civic while under the influence of a controlled substance.
West Cornwall Township
Deer Struck – A vehicle driven by a man, 33, struck a deer at 5:10 a.m. March 21 on SR 72 North in the area of Alden Lane. No injuries were reported, according to police. The vehicle sustained minor damage but was drivable.
