This Saturday, May 7, the annual Plant Sale and Garden Faire returns to the Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairground.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon in a new, bigger location on the fairgrounds campus, within the 100-foot by 75-foot Brightbill Arena.

Held annually by the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Lebanon County, the plant sale features annuals, perennials, native plants, tomatoes, peppers, and herbs. Organizers recommend you come early for the best selection. Wagons are encouraged to make it easier to transport your haul back to your vehicle.

More than 4,000 plants will be available at the event. Annual collections will be available for $20 featuring five plant varieties in each of the following themes: Made in the Shade, Hum and Bee Happy, Easter Basket, and Sweet Perfume.

More than a dozen different tomatoes varieties will also be available, including five types of beefsteak tomatoes, seven medium-size tomatoes, six types of cherry tomatoes, and one paste tomato. More than a dozen different pepper varieties will be available as well, suitable for any palette, with selections in sweet, mild to moderately hot, and hot.

This year’s event will also feature a yard sale area with gently used garden items, Mother’s Day gift ideas, and potting soil.

Find the full selection list here. Proceeds from the sale benefit Penn State Extension Master Gardener community programs. For more information, check out the Penn State Extension website or call the office at 717-270-4391.
