LebTown features a different Lebanon County pet each Friday to help us enter the weekend with the best vibes possible.
This week, meet Timmy!
“Timmy is a special needs kitty,” owner Bobbi Devine, of Jonestown, explains. “He has a condition called Radial Hypoplasia, which means that the radius bones in the front legs are either missing or deformed.
“In Timmy’s case, he has one of each. The paw that is at the right angle is missing the bone, and his other front leg is shortened and deformed. This does not hamper his mobility though!”
Bobbi says Timmy was adopted from Hillside SPCA in Pottsville in July 2018. He had been rescued from a hoarding situation.
“I saw his picture, and while they described him as having a badly healed broken leg, I recognized his condition as something he was born with,” Bobbi said. “Timmy has the biggest personality of any cat I’ve ever had. He often sits upright on his hind legs and resembles a meerkat. His hind legs are incredibly strong, and he can leap big distances in a kangaroo-like fashion. He is very affectionate, and is very bonded to me.”
This domestic short-haired kitty is a neutered male brown tabby, Bobbi said. He’s about 5 years old.
“I have some suspicions that he might have Bengal in his bloodlines somewhere, just due to the boldness of his markings, eye shape, and his very intense personality,” Bobbi added. “Timmy is a great example of resilience and adaptability. Don’t let imperfections get in the way of a potentially great pet!”
