The historic Washington Band of Annville will perform a free concert at Christ Church United Church of Christ on Sunday, Aug. 21, at 3 p.m.

Food trucks the Cheezy Grill and Paul and Charlie’s Italian Sandwich will also be there from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

This “Concert Under the Trees” is presented for free by the church, which encourages those planning to attend to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on during the concert.

Christ Church United Church of Christ is located at 200 S. White Oak Street in Annville.

Founded in August 1856, the Washington Band of Annville has a storied history, and got its name from the tavern where it originally rehearsed. The band’s current director is Michael Yeagley. See a full list of members here. Today the band performs a variety of music, including marches, patriotic songs, movie and Broadway music, polkas, and classical transcriptions for band.
